  1. Will the coach feature an on/off-switch for the interior lighting? While lighting in itself is a nice thing, it can be - at least in my opinion - quite annoying if it´s the only illuminated rolling stock on a layout whilst everything else is dark. So a switch would be a welcome feature.
  2. Hi, I´m searching for one or two Maunsell Coach Bogies by Hornby. Hornbys spare part number for these is X9723, sadly the don´t have them in stock anymore. The Bogies should be in undamaged and good condition, however the wheels are allowed to have signs of running. Thanks a lot! Manuel
  3. Since I´m a pure collector without a lot of experience in building or painting (also without any black paint at home to compare) not very good, to be honest. But since my loco (Fishbourne) sadly also had a couple of other faults I decided it´s best to send it to DCC Supplies to get it repaired or exchanged. Good luck with the IEG, that´s of course a whole different story than finding a plain black!
  4. Does anybody have experience in which paint comes closest to Dapols black? According to this drawing Dapol uses Pantone PMS 419 matt: https://digest.Dapol.co.uk/filedata/fetch?photoid=389 But unfortunately http://scalemodeldb.com/paint seems to be offline at the moment, so I can´t translate the colour there... Dapol 08

Dapol really listens to it´s customers: unnumbered Class 08 shunters in addition to the numbered ones http://www.ehattons.com/197025/Dapol_7D_008_002U_Class_08_in_BR_Blue_with_wasp_stripes_unnumbered/StockDetail.aspx http://www.ehattons.com/197026/Dapol_7D_008_006U_Class_08_in_BR_Blue_with_wasp_stripes_unnumbered/StockDetail.aspx
  6. Towers site showes a very old status quo in regard to those wagons. Dapols website (http://Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=179_298_299_593) on the other hand gives the latest information as to which diagrams we can expect to see pretty soon in shops (even more diagrams planned for the future are listed in the 2014/15 catalogue). But since the older product codes were all withdrawn there are no definite information as to which liveries we´ll get with the first batch.
  7. Thanks for the pictures. But the doors don´t seem to be moveable, do they? In my opinion this would be a shame.
  8. I´m sorry, but he is not. It´s possible that the real loco was scanned for the show, but then it was surely heavily redesigned and simplified as well. Because at the end of the day the CGI model misses a LOT of details (e.g. most of the rivets), which are surprisingly present on the Bachmann model. In addition some proportions and details (e.g. of the bufferbeam and the buffers themselves) are represented quite wrong by the CGI model but are actually accurate on the Bachmann model. All that implies - except for the livery and the face of course - the real Talyllyn as Bachmanns prototype, not the CGI model. Please study applicable pictures for yourself and you will see, what I´m writing about.
  9. Thank you for the information regarding were the slate wagons will come from! So far not in the case of the narrow gauge range, at least Skarloey is, as I mentioned earlier in this topic, to my joy modeled after the real Talyllyn, not after one of his TV counterparts.
  10. Has somebody tried out which curve radius Skarloey will negotiate? Bachmann US says 11,25", which would be unfortunate in respect of Pecos settrack system with 9" curves. Manuel

The EWS livery was originally planned for the first batch, but later canceled, whereas the BR black one was added. The options shown on Dapols website are the current ones.
  13. That´s true, but nevertheless its shape and details are actually closer to the real Talyllyn than to Skarloey. For example the front buffer beam represents pretty well Talyllyns, whilst it looks nothing like any of the models and animations of the TV series.
  14. If you´re quick, Tower Models may have a few left...
  15. Can´t complain about my two. Even though I haven´t run them in properly so far, they move like clockwork...
  16. Hi CME, good point. I assume the best way would be to ask directly at upcoming exhibitions. But also emailing or Facebook would be alternatives. And just because Dapol isn´t writing here anymore dosen´t necessarily mean they aren´t still reading, I guess. Greetings, Manuel
  17. Dapol stated on their Facebook page, they would consider to bring later on also the other I.O.W. variants with A1 type sandboxes etc., if people want these and let them know. So it´s up to us, to express our interest for these, and we might get them! Manuel
  18. Newport (as well as Freshwater) has for example special sandboxes and additional steps and handrails in front of the water tanks, whilst Fishbourne remained with the exception of the extended bunker pretty much a "standard" A1X.

    Dapol 08

Not necessary anymore. According to Tower Models, Dapol added the BR Black livery to the first batch. Great news to my ears!
