  1. Thanks Mike I have most of the items on your list, with the exception of the 9a blade, which I have not seen before. Ready to have a go. regards Dennis
  2. Hi Mike I’m following your progress with interest. I have scratch built locos and rolling stock using brass, but not styrene. Your parts are always very neat and tidy. What method do you use for cutting and preparing the components. When I use styrene it always looks a bit rough.
  3. I for one am very pleased that the photos appeared in the GOG magazine. I fancy having a go at scratch building an old breakdown set that I photographed at Derwenthaugh Coking Works many years ago. I am most interested in the strapping detail you have produced on your open wagons and vans and particularly in how you did it or where you obtained it from. Delightful wagons! Dennis
  4. I realise that it is some time since the last post on the thread, but I have just purchased a 3 car 101 set. I wondered if you had any issue with the matching of the profiles between the cab and the coach sides. I am finding it difficult to align them without the need to remove some material from either the cab or the sides themselves. I have tried to keep the spacing correct for the fitting of both the roof and the floor, but this results in the body sides protruding about 0.5mm around the centre part. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
  5. H Mike I have been inspired to consider buying a Silouette cutter by the models produced by a member of our little O gauge group. I have gone through the helpful instructions you produced some time ago, using Inkscape to draw the Coal Hut. I was OK until I came to try deleting the score lines from the Cut 20 thou layer. At this point the programme continually stalled and the score lines appeared not to be deleted. I found that there were multiple copies of the same lines on the drawing. This also applied to the lines in the the main structure. I had to laboriously delete the excess lines one at a time. I copied the drawing from the master to the 3 layers using the Ctrl+D to copy and Shift + Page Up to transfer the copy to the relevant layer. This also appeared to cause the programme to stop responding. I know it's some time since you covered this topic, but do you have any idea what may have gone wrong. Cheers Dennis
