  1. Getting to the show.... It seems that the cheapest option by far for me is to travel down to Litchfield at just £28.20 vs the £42.10 going Rugeley. Unfortunately I have to have stops at Tamworth as via BNS isn't available on that ticket, but i guess we can't have everything. I know it's probably a big ask, but does anyone know how much the buses cost from Litchfield to Handsacre return? I can find the timetable for the buses, (annoyingly I get in 3 minutes after the bus leaves, meaning i'll have to wait and will be 15 minutes late to the show, which should allow the hoards at the door to disperse a bit lol) however, I cannot find a price guide and not being from the area it's hard to just pop down to the office and ask.
  2. This is looking like a fantastic project and I am delighted to be joining in at the start of it. A class 60 loco in any scale will always get a thumbs up from me and it's interesting to see you name Pengwynn Crossing as a source of inspiration as I still have fond memories of seeing it in Railway Modeller with it's 37s and very faded class 50 all covered in dust from the china clay operations. For years I dreamt of one day owning the layout or building something like it, now all I seem to want is small shunting layouts I too was seduced by O gauge for a while and actually subscribed to the "Build The Mallard" partwork, currently have up to part 83 here with no idea if or when i'll build it or indeed, where I'd run it if I did. That shed looks very appealing, I can't wait to see it's construction.
  3. Cheers mate, seems strange communicating with you on multiple forums at the same time, will be so much simpler face to face
  4. Pen me in for one of those, any idea on rough pricing at this point or would it be too early to say?
  5. I think I may well have to visit this, 2 days after my birthday and only £42.10 return on the train, (unless anyone is driving across from Lincoln and would like to split fuel costs). Rob will already know that I'm a great admirer of his layout Tilley Yard South from elsewhere and it will be a great opportunity to see this and others up close.
  6. This is looking very interesting, I love the cut out in the board for the cassette, very nicely done.
  7. I was always under the impression that they did, even though they got into the heavy oil game early on, a few years before Rudolph Diesel in fact. I am sure I'd seen pictures of a R&H steam loco before, but cannot find anything now so you may be right.
  8. I'd be very interested in learning how to fabricate those. I'm new to the scratchbuild/kitbash scene having relied on RTR in the past, but a skirted 04 isn't going to appear any time soon and the technique for these could be an alternative if I become brave/competent enough to scratchbuild a W&U tram body.
