  1. Have noted that one GWr on one 57 is already weathering badly..... !
  2. Didn't know St Germans had a Beech... ! Straight from the horse's mouth today, first refurbished NR coach due Christmas. Didn't say which Christmas..... !
  3. Now if you were around the morning before, 641 was used to bring the NR out of the station as the shed turn driver didn't have 57 knowledge. The last brake coach is due back in green within 2 weeks so there will never be an all blue rake again as per previous posts around 2 weeks ago. For those who follow such things, all our 57s except 604 now have their outer ploughs fitted at both ends. 4 has none at all since its bogie refurbishment. Here's hoping they see use...... . Happy Christmas !
  4. Only 602 left in blue.... . No clues yet about which GWR livery 604 will be put into when time comes.
  5. This was TSOD 12100 with a bogie problem. Don't know if it's off to Plymouth, Bristol, old Oak, Derby or Kilmarnock.... !!
  6. Brilliant news. Knew the Fishponds area of Bristol where these were built very well, including the Pecketts Flyer pub... ! My livery choice, well yellow too !
  7. Have a video of it passing Long Rock on my flikr stream. Cornish triang Paul or under usual search tags.
  8. New liveried HST finally made it down today for first time. 0702 ex Plymouth then 1000 Penzance to Paddington.
  9. New seat covers in grey and green in standard in New livery HST set. Cast GWR on power car sides and 57 just to recap..... .
  10. That's if Hornby gets it correct..... ! First time the HST has made it to Cornwall and I missed it. Never mind. Unless you have seen the livery with branding, keep an open mind. I didn't like it at first and neither did the rest of us on depot. Now it's complete, it looks a darn sight better regardless of conditions. As for those of you upset about how much it costs, again I shall mention the stock needs/needed repainting as per maintenance exams anyhow. Expect any models to sell well !
  11. Nobody I know has mentioned any new naming policy. Have thought to myself though is it the end of traditional locomotive names as there will eventually only be " units "..... ?
  12. I too find it strange about the position of the HST numbers. Front is handy especially in sidings looking front on in a yard. Differences in cant rail colour could be down to painted by different works. Today's NR in hands of all blue locos !!
  13. Thought this was a new livery thread...... .New franchise, new livery. Having seen rakes in the flesh with branding now, looks a lot better complete. Didn't like it at first but yes, it works. Must say, I have not known such a fuss made over a new colour scheme since Barbie bus. And what about the scrapping of VTEC? But thats on another thread also.
  14. Cast metal on the locos. No shots from me during big shunt on depot to put coaches in right order for launch at Paddington Monday, battery went flat.... .
  15. Loco branding on its way.... high number plate reason.... you'll see ! Big question is will 604 be repainted in GWR or gWr.....?
  16. Green sleeper rake Saturday booked off depot 1540 empty to Plymouth for Sunday's up due to engineering works. May be two locos. one should be 605.
  17. Yes although route is destined for turbos. When a loco is released from repaint, it needs an exam before use. Our coaches need a week's worth of work.
  18. Knowing the state our coaches are being returned in, they won't be working...... .
  19. The "blue" set will have some green in it by saturday next week so get your final shots in while you can.
  20. This set will only stay blue until sometime next week so get it while you can. Up Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
  21. See my previous posts in this thread and the new fgw livery thread in the prototype discussion area. Not explaining again lol etc.... . With the evenings coming in and the Saturday turn finished, the next 3 Saturday's thanks to engineering works are the last chance to photo a blue sleeper on the mainline in daylight.
