  3. Thanks Tim, nice to hear from a happy customer. Just to let you all know we've received a second delivery of the Bachmann Blue Class 40159 Still no sign of the elusive Green ones yet...
  4. Time for a gratuitous bump of our book, as we are now pretty much sold out. As our ground based fundraising on the Diesel gala circuit comes to a close, we are turning our attention to our online sales once more. It would be really great to get a sell out in time for Christmas, so if you haven't got a copy of our book "Syphon Salute" yet and would like one. It can be ordered via our website www.c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669 Many thanks as always for your support of our group. 100% of our profits go straight into our restoration fund. We will be making an exciting announcement about 37003 later this year, and it has only been possible through all the support you have given us via our fundraising activities. Martin C37LG Chairman. Owners of 37003
  5. Yes that would be nice. 6737 and 6975 are both flying the flag for pre-tops Blue 37s down on the South Devon railway at the moment, so perfect studies! Having done a special commission of 37003 a few years back, I am not sure we have any un-grey'd hairs left to do another one! Maybe one day, although it will probably be a Green 6703.
  6. Thanks Rob, much appreciated. If there is anything you or anyone wants that we don't currently stock. Let us know and we can see what we can do. We get weekly deliveries from Bachmann and can add in pretty much anything if the price is right.
  7. Hi Everybody. We have been stocking Bachmann models for a while now, as part of our fundraising activities to get 37003 back in service on the Mid Norfolk Railway (She currently resembles Swiss cheese, and half her engine is my garage!) and have gone a bit wild with the cheque book for Bank Holiday, so wanted to tell as many people as possible about us to save it hanging around too long and getting dusty. All of our items are available through eBay, but don't worry about us having to stomach the fees. As a Charity, we don't pay any! All prices include 2nd Class Royal Mail postage, and for those of you that may have accidently found us in the past, I hope you'll agree we do a pretty mean bit of packaging! So, if you are in the market for a bit of modern image 00 Gauge Bachmann stuff, then check us out here http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/c37lg/m.html Many Thanks in advance for anyone that chooses to make a purchase, your support really is appreciated. Keep coming back as well, or subscribe to our twitter feed @c37lg to see what is new. We are expecting another batch of Blue Class 40's and the first of the Green ones next week for example. I will try and post some updates here along the way as well. Cheers for now. Martin
  8. Looks great Matabiau. Loving the Prototype APT as well! For everyone else. We now have our second batch of 47576's in Stock. All on eBay this time! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152087187265 Thanks as always Martin. C37LG
  9. Evening Everybody. Having learnt a few lessons with 47576! We have just received TWO 47436's from Bachmann this morning, and these are only available via our eBay site. The 47 is here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162059988117 The big brown box also included some of the newly released modern image Bachmann Wagons, and you can find these in our general shop here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/c37lg/m.html?&_ssc=1 As always, all profits from these sales go straight into the 37003 restoration fund. Thanks Martin.
  10. Thanks James Luckily as a Charity we don't have to pay ebay fees. As a general update For the first time ever in the history of the Group, the demand for this model has outstripped our stock overnight! I got to work and ebay was sold out and our website sales over subscribed ! We have placed a top up order with Bachmann, but you may be contacted later, to ask if you will accept a short delay in delivery or if you would like a refund I am totally stunned at the interest this loco has generated Thanks to you all and don't forget to check out all the other Bachmann rolling stock we are selling through eBay. All profits go towards the ongoing restoration of 37003 at the Mid Norfolk Railway
  11. Hi. We've received our consignment of Bachmann's 47576 in Network South East Livery today if anyone is waiting for one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162050196401 Thanks Martin C37LG Sales Team.
  12. Thanks for all the thumbs up everybody, really glad it is being so well received. As for a Volume 2........This is the perfect accolade, but I am not sure my C37LG colleagues have enough un-greyed hairs to embark on this just yet! Hopefully one day. Thanks again, and if anyone still needs a copy, we have a few boxes left. They can be ordered via www.c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669 Happy Christmas and New Year to you all! Martin C37LG Chairman. Owners of 37003
  13. I really appreciate all your positive comments, it is very gratifying. Thanks to everyone that has bought it directly from us at the C37LG, as 100% of the money from these sales goes straight into the pot for 37003's bodywork repairs and repaint next year which are likely to cost around £20,000! The previous owner was not very careful about rust prevention! As a Charity, this sort of fundraising project is always high risk due to the upfront monies required to make it happen. Luckily, doing this with Kevin meant we were able to make this happen at a lower risk and at a higher level of quality than we would have been able to do alone, and I thank him for the opportunity to do it. All the best and enjoy your books! Martin
  14. Hi everybody. I'm glad that most of you are receiving the books OK, if there are any problems, please message me directly (In case you don't get the direct message MichaelP, yours is still out on the van as I type) Yes I fully agree about Hermes not being the best solution, but unfortunately in this instance we had to use the most expediate means to get them out, and that meant using them. Our sales team volunteers are unable to visit their local post office within normal opening hours due to the day job, so to get it out to you's asap to minimise any further delay by waiting till today to post Royal Mail, we had no choice. Sorry! Anyhow, I hope you do enjoy it, and I won't mention it anymore, as I am sure those of you getting it for Christmas are already lifting the corners of the wrapping paper! Happy Christmas everybody! Martin.
  15. Hi Colin, mine arrived today and it was certainly worth the wait! Nothing prepares you for seeing something you have been working on "virtually" arrive in physical form. A very proud day for the C37LG! Kevin you have done us proud. Thank you. Now we are in the run up to Christmas we are dispatching them on a daily basis, so if anyone else would like one, they can be ordered via here http://c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669or if you would like to order one in a more traditional way, a cheque for £19.95 sent to The Class 37 Locomotive Group, 8 Sutton Lane, Adlington, Nr Chorley, Lancashire, PR6 9PA is equally welcome. Thanks to all of you that have ordered one, especially for your patience. I do hope you like it! Cheers Martin
  16. Yes what he said! Thanks Kevin you beat me to it. We are now advertising again with confidence, so if anyone would like to purchase a copy of our book please visit http://c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669 All proceeds go straight into the restoration pot for our loco 37003, and having just written a cheque for £2500 for a set of piston rings and main bearings we need it! Why oh why did I get involved with a 12 cylinder loco, 8 would have been so much cheaper! But not as much fun
  17. Good evening everybody. As you may have noticed, we haven't mentioned the status of our book "Syphon Salute" recently. This is because it has met with further delays, and we have been trying to get some solid information about its current arrival time. From the current information to hand, we should have it by the end of this month. Hooray! I hope you will all bear with us on this, and we really do appreciate your patience. If anyone feels the need to cancel their order, then we totally understand that. Please message us, and we will take all the necessary steps to get your money back to you. As ever, many thanks to Kevin at Strathwood for his perserverance in getting this into the UK, then to us, and finally into your hands! All the best Martin
  18. Just to let you know that we have been informed of a slight delay to the arrival of our book in the UK, which I believe is around two weeks. I am very sorry for this, and would like to apologise to those of you that have already ordered one and are sitting on the edges of their seats in anticipation! I promise we will get it to you as soon as we can! For anyone else tempted to buy one. It is worth the wait, so take a look at our website for the details http://c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669 Thanks Martin C37LG Chairman.
  19. Hello Colin, Many thanks for your purchase. I believe the gift aid option is only for purchasing memberships and donations, but I will look into it with our IT guru to make sure as you may have found a flaw in our system! Thanks again Martin
  20. Thanks to all of you that have placed an order. I cannot believe how quickly these are flying out of the door. All these small actions will lead to some very loud noises next year hopefully! Thanks again Martin
  21. Lovely photos Alcanman. Two out of three preserved, and based only 25 miles apart! Uncanny.
  22. No lots of us Syphon fans around! In fact Tractor was deemed a derogatory term within our group for a long time, until it became more widespread and we had to cave in! Our members magazine is also titled Syphon! which links in nicely with the book as well. There are lots of theories on the origins of the nickname, but as far as I am concerned, the source is long since consigned to history. The most credible is it had something to do with the number of grilles in the side making it look like the old GWR Syphon perishable goods wagons. But like I say, why, where and what we will never know for sure. To old Eastern men they still just 1750's after the horse power. Martin
  23. Hello Everyone, I hope this might be of interest to some of you as I know that there are a lot of Class 37 enthusiasts on here, and also some of the photo's in this book would make great reference material for modellers, historians etc. Apolgies for the blatent cut and paste of our press release! Martin Ranson, Chairman - Class 37 Locomotive Group. In association with Kevin Derrick of Strathwood publications, the Class 37 Locomotive Group (Owners of 37003 at the Mid Norfolk Railway) have been toiling away for the last 12 months to arrive at a 96 page hardback pictorial book celebrating fifty sterling years service of the English Electric type Three's or British Rail Class 37's. The book is split into seven chapters showing some of the best images of Class 37 workings on various freight and passenger workings, that they were renowned and remembered for. This will bring back memories of the Licky bankers, as well as Triple-headed heavy freight to Ravenscraig and Llanwern. The green and BR blue eras, as well as regions that that were their common stomping grounds, the Eastern, Scotland and Wales. With the sub class of 37/4's which earned themselves a cult following, and our own loco 37003 getting in on the act. It finishes off showing the class in the years leading up to, and after the Millennium. All the profits from this project go directly towards the restoration of 37003. It is available for pre-order on our website http://c37lg.co.uk/shop_item.aspx?category=books&item=669 for £19.95 including P&P We expect to receive the books towards the end of October for immediate dispatch. Thanks for your interest.
