    A certain green celebrity kettle (60103) is running from York to Bury (ELR) today, travelling via Hellifield and Preston and Wigan!? Very odd route but it means I’ll see it, maybe in reverse too.

      Means I got to see her as well. I believe her odd route is something to do with her facing the right way for the ELR, as there is no easy triangle over there and no turntable. I think they want her the right way as they allow people on the (stationary) footplate at Bury.

      I don't think it's derogatory at all, we call diesels hoovers, spoons, bones, sheds and skips. I don't think it's ever used dismissively.

      A1SLT have said it failed due to a part of the inside valve gear being damaged. I hope it was nothing to do with the speed.

      It was me last year (doing the real ones) they usually use last years real papers because they withhold the mark scemes for that set of papers so you can’t find them online. I assume we have some exam boards in common so I wouldn’t be surprised if you are doing one I did. Good luck

    Friday before Christmas and TOCs are playing their annual game of how many people can we fit in a unit. TPE are winning, closely followed by Virgin. And I’ve got the best seats, and by a seat, I mean a vestibule end.

      Friday before Christmas is always especially bad, Virgin had only called off todays strike yesterday but some services are still cancelled and many booked with TPE because at the time, they couldn’t with VT.
