  1. I didn't find an existing topic for Sheffield Transport Models (pufferwillies-stm.co.uk) so I figured I would start one.  I was looking for some Peco kits which did not seem to be in stock at any of "the big guys."  I then found Sheffield Transport Models' website which indicated a few of these were in stock.  To be sure I sent a short email asking about availability and shipping costs.  I was very impressed when I received an immediate response.  So, with in stock, good price, very reasonable shipping cost and outstanding customer service, I ordered.  My kits arrived today in excellent shape and I am one happy customer.  I am sure I will do additional business with these guys in the future!

  2. I ordered the 7mm Small Good Shed kit a short while ago (I am in the United States). It arrived over the weekend and I spent a bit of time "playing" with the various pieces.  This examination showed that my initial hesitation in ordering (the price seemed almost too good to be true) was misguided.  Not only is the design of this particular kit (and the rest of the line) ingenious, but the cutting was, in my opinion, of very high quality, the interlocking corners fit perfectly and the instructions easy to understand.  Wow!

The only thing that I will need to add is some bracing, but that is only to be expected of any wood kit.

I can't wait to get started on it.  Well, I have to wait at least a little bit as I am currently looking at the various parts available so that I can make this building a bit longer with extended platforms.  I have no doubt this will turn out to be a way fun project and the first of many.

P.O.  Ooops, forgot to mention that the overseas postage charged was very very reasonable.   :good:

  3. The internet "store" I use the most is M.B. Klein (modeltrainstuff.com) They also have a retail shop in Maryland which I plan to visit next year when my son moves down to that area for work - need to start saving now lol.  Another source I've used is TrainWorld in Brooklyn.  I've ordered from them several times several years ago (via phone as they didn't have a website) and was blown away by their superfast shipping.  I also visited their store in Brooklyn - way small shop as mail order really is their lifeline, but it was fun as there was an EL right outside (elevated portion of the subway).  Unfortunately I don't know if either ships internationally.

  4. Since making my first purchase a few years ago, I have always been impressed with Hattons.  Very user friendly website and I especially like that current stock is shown.  For me, the international shipping charges (I live in the U.S.) charged by Hattons are among the lowest I've encountered.  More importantly, each  time I've emailed them I received a very quick and complete reply, each order has been sent complete, well packed and quicly shipped.  Class act all the way!  Dave
