  1. This locomotive runs very well. I've one (ATSF zebra) I've bought from a friend of mine in 1993. It's still a very good and smooth runner. These old Kato drives are excellent.
  2. Sorry Peter but I haven't seen the "mirror effect". But you can turn for 180° the buildings to obtain the good way. You can put the "gabarit réduit" signal on a post near the "tunnel". And write "EVITER LA FUMEE" on the wall.
  3. For the warning on the building, SNCF has written the "official" sentence: "EVITER LA FUMEE" And you can add this signal on the left of the track before the tunnel
  4. I've read Le Tréport-Mers les Bains station has a turntable for the Nord locomotives. No shed. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gare_du_Tr%C3%A9port_-_Mers But why not to invent a "annexe traction" located in Eu for the Le Tréport - Amiens line. Or to create a line between Ault to Abbeville. Another "ligne des Bains de Mer". It's only an idea...
  5. Kevin I don't know. For me it's more realistic to see a green loco with 030 DB lettering and a green with yellow stripes with Y 50101. Of course the form of the lettering isn't exact and the size is too big.
  6. I don't think the tin model (époque III green) has realistic lettering.
  7. I know the 030DB was repainted and modified into Y 50100 in 1962 (époque III to époque IV changes).
  8. French drivers are very often a lot less courteous than UK ones. In France there is some départements where it can be more dangerous to drive than others.
  9. Nice project Daniel! You said: "I just prefer N scale as it allows for a much more realistic level of railroad to scenery ratio." I think that too.
  10. Just one of my little video to help you Jordan to find the motivation!
  11. These last posts: videos... photos of GP30 and Alco are very interesting. That gives me motivation! I have the same problem Jordan: I need some motivation and friends who share the same themes to continue my work. Your curve looks very good despite it's sharp. The eye view hides well this sharp curve. I was bluffed by your first photo. Ok it's the old HO place underneath the O scale track. Good! So we have to continue to work and to post! I post again your nice photo Jordan!

  13. Peter, do you have photos of your new couplers?
  14. No this scheme is more modern. Epoque III is more olive green without yellow lines and red pilots. Like here: http://lacavernedurail.com/030-db-8-sncf/
  15. Nice photo Jordan! The track curve seems modified. Is it real or a simple looking? Happy to have news from your layout. About the photos, it's really easy to add them in posts without using any gallery photo supplier. You have a button to add files in your message... very easy to use and reliable...
  16. The Y 50100 ran in the Nord region until 1970's.
  17. Yes I still have seen an Alco powered layout like that: no loop... interesting!
  18. Ray An EMD which want to be an Alco! Not serious!
  19. If I hadn't my Caboose Hobbies with a P&D drive, I would have bought yours. But it's too late for me.
  20. Bill, your GP-7 looks beautiful! Do you really will change the paint?
