  1. hi all thought i would show an update on the new steps down to the station. well at least we might get a few passengers down on the platform now and i have decided on the number for the new class 47 . that i will name and number and weather for your amusement
  2. if only i had the room i would love a layout like this . the catenary detail is superb as well as all the other detail. a stunning layout. must have watched the vid about 10 times now
  3. you never know what will be next from Heljan and Dapol so fingers crossed for a 86 or 87
  4. im wating for the new Heljan 37/4s at the moment. and 15ft x 3ft is a great size though about extending my buy a foot in width could do so much more
  5. hi andy yes my loft is 18ft long but only 9ft wide thats with the layout a 3ft high i would have plenty of room if i dropped it down a foot but i have a bad back all ready. its bad enough with oo gauge .the curves just dont look right so will stick to end to end. it does mean you have to drive trains in stead of just watching them go round and round
  6. hi yes got to many locos and like i said the other 47 is brand new out the box and i have another on its way in the next week or so as my friend started collecting 7mm locos years back with the intention of building a garden layout but now hes letting me have them every month or so . i hope to buy all of his 47s over the next few months . he has some special repaints by tower models but not cheap as they cost him a fortune. i am saving some money for the new 37/4s that shoud be out soon. yes got loads of wagons in the hattons sale. just not on the layout no room with all the locos lol
  7. i suppose so but im in the loft and this is my second attempt at 7mm as i got a bit frustrated the first time after modeling oo gauge for so long but have been drawn back by the ready to run locos they are superb . just wish i had the room to go all the way around but the curves are just to tight
  8. many thanks andy that means a lot to me cumming from you as i am an avid follower of your posts and even watch your utube posts as well your a star ps love your layout two its really taking shape terry
  9. hi firs of all thank you the layout is 20 inches wide and 14 foot scenic and runs round the corner under the bridge to fiddle yard that is 8 foot long terry
  10. Hi here is a few photos of my new layout build br blue 70s -80s br blue still loads of work to do but every time i go to do some more work i end up running trains instead. but managed to weather the class 47 1662 today and shes come out ok .dont you think? all locos are sound fitted zimo and esu biffo swd and paul chetter sound files with large base reflex speakers from roads and rails. the second 47 not numbered is brand new out the box last week...
  11. looks superb and i looked at these kits a while back and thought about buying a few . but never had the nerve to repaint locos in drs livery . i have a few 47s 37s and 20s but all are br blue. i would love see more modern image locos and layouts on here so keep images cumming terry

  14. hi all just a quick one does any one know who does the sound files for tower models esu xl v4 class 37 thanks in advance terry
  15. hi lee thank you for your comments yes this has been a real learning curve and quiet worrying at times knowing the cost of the loco that i could easy make a complete mess of this being my first re paint. luckily i have had vin giving me tips through out that have realy helped thanks vin i know its no were near a pro finish but i am quit pleased with the finish so far but an expert would pick up all the mistakes strait away as i can see them all myself and hoping to hide them with weathering. i will keep all the pictures coming right to the end so you can see how she turns out and hopefully people can learn from my mistakes terry
  16. hi vin yes i noticed that as well but going to hide that with weathering i hope i was intending to varnish the whole loco with varnish after it had been weathered to give it a seal its all the small stuff that takes the time and patience . might send the other two to you LOL considering a green 33 of ebay but that will need a repaint in two blue also . why is there plenty of green about but very little blue ???? terry
  17. hi as you can see i have taken vins tips on going over the panels with blue again and it does look much more realistic just cant capture it in the photos. when we get a bright day i will take it outside to photograth as you can see from the pics below i have started to re assemble the loco and have added the numbers to an ok standard hoping to hide some bits with a bit of weathering . next job is to fit handrails ect and buffer beam detail and then i will start the weathering LOOKING FOR MORE TIPS HERE VIN. all in all i am quit pleased with it so far for a first attempt but found it a real learning curve as i thought it would be done in a couple of days but a week later we are still not there yet. tryed to order the sound decoder from swd but out of stock till the end of the month so the chasiss will have to wait till then. for its make over, i welcome your comments
  18. hi vin thanks for all the tips keep them coming rest of the paint and transfers from fox turned up today so got plenty to do over the next couple of nights. i can start weathering the chassis while the paint dries on the body. will i need to varnish before transfers ? and do you know of any body who does a good seated driver in hi vis jacket as im planning on detailing the cab and may be cab light . terry
  19. getting carried away now going for the faded affect not bad for first attempt at a repaint please feel free to comment.
  20. hi vin see what you mean by paint inside the cab will put that right later well first couple of coats of rail blue
