  1. wish i could build a layout like this its superb said a man just moving back from 7mm to 4mm and looking for inspiration cant wait for full lenth trains again
  2. hi Andy look forward to seeing them on your layout as i love 47s and 37s as they are what i grew up with. i think its just the sound of them it never goes away
  3. dont you think its funny that nearly all us train guys also enjoy a take away as well
  4. some ones been busey then. looking superb andy dont know how you find the time to do two
  5. hi bob yes it does look good better than my work for sure i think the fuel tanks are djh that have been modified and have a very large speaker underneath . the buffer beam has been changed for a brass one with brass buffers the correct size and to top it off it has a top notch paint job and all the lights work independently on different functions
  6. ANOTHER NEW ADDITION THAT I BOUGHT OF KEN A FULLY TRANSFORMED Heljan CLASS 47 WITH SOUND . SO PLEASED WITH THIS LOCO. THE WORK THAT HAS GONE INTO THE FUEL TANKS LIGHTS AND BUFFER BEAMS IS SUPERB
  7. thank you both i will give it a ago later but dont expect anything as good as yours as it will be recorded on my phone
  8. great video mate how do you upload one please terry
  9. how do you upload a video please its no good without sound lol
  10. just to show another new member to the fleet sound as been added and a base reflex speaker and it sounds great. i wanted to add a video but it says files to big when i choose files so how do you lot upload videos
  11. takes me back a few weeks this video as i blew all the lights when fitting sound to my class 47 . forgot all about resistors on the older models. so i have replaced all the lights with new led s . but the only problem is they are a bit to bright. so can i add bigger resitors to dim them down a bit ?
  12. I totally agree as with my first attempt at 7mm i went down the road of kit building and found it very frustrating that i could not build and paint the kits to the standard that i wanted and no were near the standard of some of the people who build and paint and repaint on here. i i do understand that for a lot of modelers this is the fun part. thats great if you have the ability and the patience . but for me i like to save my pennies and buy one ready to run straight out the box. also i think it has bought a lot more people over to the 7mm side witch is good as it keeps new models cumming out and prices down as its a competative market now with all the new manufactures
  13. yes built a couple of brass kits before but they have not turned out to good and spent most of my time trying to get them to run well and buy the time you have bought gear box motor paint ect ect they work out expensive. i found that the JLTRT kits superb to build but also work out very very expensive . so im more than happy with my Heljan and Dapol and it leaves more time to build layout. ps i will have a look at the brian daniels thread he is the master...
  14. well i have numbered and named the other 47 and have started to weather . and will finish over the weekend but hers a few pics to keep you going
  15. thanks paul i will have a look as i would have though thay would be a pain to scratch build. i am considering a class 86 kit from prmrp but imagine that would be a pain i to build as well i do love my ready to run locos terry
  16. hi paul does any one make catenary for 7mm that you know of because i think it would look good even though i have nothing electric to run on layout yet terry
  17. hi yes sorry for the delay yes all scratch built from odds and ends and slaters plasticard
  18. i was thinking 47086 colossus late 70s for the the new 47 as its been around the block and used to turn up every were a real work horse.
