  1. Hi, Yes 3455 was lineless on one end, I think this is a superb bit of detailing from Hornby. Might be a slight issue if renumbering for some modellers but it's simple enough to either mask and paint or apply a transfer for others.
  2. Hi all, Been busy building and detailing a 4 CEP recently, and signals for the upcoming layout so progress on the CAP has been slower than I thought. Luckily I've had some time off work to knuckle down with it over the past two weeks. The unit is fully painted and transfers have been applied. I must still insert a headlight onto the other end coach as per unit 3203. No roof alterations will take place as it would be minimal and it's purely a representation of the class, not an exact model. The toilet windows are still to be fully installed. One car has a make shift set up but it not flush with the body. All in good time. Electrically she's sound, and ready for a sister 4 EPB. Keep you posted on that soon!! trim.FD2D48F9-80F1-41A9-86C4-541CB46855F7.MOV
  3. Cheers Paul! I'm confident that 3203 had black inner cabs however there were so many variations in NSE days I wouldn't be surprised if it was a mash of everything including Southern green!
  4. Thanks kintbury jon. I'll be taking your advice on that and filling in the headlight. The Motor chassis will eventually be at the head of the train for the remaining working headlight to function.
  5. So, those who have seen the Class 455/7!thread will now know she's finished. So onto a new unit, another Bachmann conversion. For peak operations, I've always thought about having a 4 CAP. Two Class 414's permanently coupled. So here's a look at the work so far. The blue grey EPB body is ideal as it comes with the high density headlight. Sourcing a 2nd EPB with headlight will not be an issue. I will instead couple the DMSO with the other headlight to the other end of the train. Converting the windows of the EPB trailer to HAP was simple enough. Opening out the door section and using filler. More filling will be required and glazing for what will be the toilet area. Applying NSE was the hardest part and luckily the paint job experience is now up to scratch thanks to the 455.
  6. Latest updates. The gangways have been weathered and the cab fronts made to look a little less clean and plastic. In addition, I have painted the door indicator lights to all coaches, and applied door warning transfers above the buttons.
  7. Thank you all, and kintbury-jon it was seeing yours that inspired me!! And @NSE_Latchmere's on twitter
  8. The classic orange and yellow interiors just needed to be represented, so along with some painted blue seats, and some passengers standing and sitting, the interior was starting to resemble an off peak 455/7.
  9. Detailing came next. On Day 7-8 I added transfers and fashioned up some steps and associated equipment for the front of the unit cabs. Jumper cables were pinched and played around with courtesy of a redundant Hornby 73. Oh and a driver was added!
  10. Progression continued, and over the next couple of days, all 4 coaches had been painted. It was then time to reassemble the glazing. Thanks to Bachmann's high quality products, this was very easy, and I only chipped a bit of paint here and there. Very much like the real 455's in their later NSE years.
