  1. The cantrail grill (above the BR logo) on Bulwark post-repair had less louvers than all other Class 50s / the grill on the other side of 50 041, so another variation if there is ever a model of 50 041. I was a schoolboy living in Penzance at the time of Bulwark's crash and the Dad of a friend at school was a Penzance train driver. The evening before the crash we were lucky enough to have a cab ride on 50 041 when it coupled up to the the sleeper (difficult to imagine now). So it was a bit of a shock the next morning to hear on the radio that the engine I had rode on the previous evening had crashed entering Paddington! if a model was ever produced, because of that connection, I will certainty purchase one as well - to go with 50 021 already ordered.
  2. Great news, if not for my wallet! The original Accusable post said that there would be "missing handrails on D400" which is indeed correct as it uniquely missing the forward-facing handrails under the windows at each end. However, there is no model of D400 / 50 050 listed. Does that mean that there will be a model of this locomotive on a future batch, or it has not yet been announced for this batch? "Fearless" was my favourite, hence the interest.
  3. I travelled on these a lot in the late 1980s in Cornwall and the Laira Class 122s, following light refurbishment and asbestos strip at Vic Berry (though they did not do a complete job of removing it apparently) and the seat fabric was a red/blue horizontal stripe. This seat fabric is as per Chris Higgs photo above, though I seem to recall it was a bit more vivid then, possibly it has faded with time. The Class 122s where moved west to replace the Class 142s along with a mixed selection of Class 101 and 108s. The Laira 122s in the late 1980s/early 1990s where, I think 55000, 03, 05, 06, 09 & 12 - all of which are now preserved. Also 55012, the Dapol model in Regional Railways colours, retained this fabric colour after repainting into Regional Railways colours, rather than the normal Regional Railways grey with blue dots, see the last few frames of: https://youtu.be/BCfmElmu5fs forconfirmation. So it is shame that Dapol have given this blue seats!
  4. Please find attached photos of two engineering samples photographed at the Bachmann stand at the Bluebell Railway Model Railway Exhibition at Sheffield Park on 25/06/16. Sorry only phone camera photos. Note that the headlight is missing from the gangway door - so for an earlier period model. DTCs have tables between the seating bays next to the windows. Did not travel on the 4TCs that much, so my memory maybe incorrect, but I thought they only had small tables suitable for a couple of drinks below the window and not full size tables?
