Good old run down and up the ECML for me tomorrow and then a bus to and from. Only have 3 hours on site at most so I shall not bother anyone with any weird questions and will probably only purchase books. Looks like the weather will again be kind to pedestrians (walk to from bus stop unless I CBA to get the 197 or whatever it is?).
I am looking forward to meeting a good pal during his lunch break and seeing some target layouts. If anyone recognises me then bad luck, however have good day and thanks for what looks like a good show.
Last time I came was with the late Geoff Brewin when I helped on his Comet Models Stand so I shall be having a little quiet contemplation to remember that and his friendship too.
Phil
Hope to catch up with you

I have long taken the view that if an item is only available by mail order, then the cost of carriage should be included in the price. To do otherwise can and often is misleading. For example, in a curent "Radio Times" (the fact that I read that shows my age!) an attractive garden plant is offered at (in big prominent letters) "Now only £16". Of course it isn't - in small print on the order form at the bottom of the page P&P of £4.95 is added, so in fact it's £20.95. As that is the price that has to be paid, it's the only price that should be quoted.
The same should apply to ebay where, like others, I alwys give preference to items that are offered with free postage. If faster or more secure carriage is required by the buyer, he could select that himself and pay a premium for it. Having said that, I never understand why a buyer should have to pay for insurance; responsibility for the package rests with the seller until it is delivered, so insurance can only benefit the seller and there seems no reason why the buyer should have to pay for it. If the seller wants insurance, it should be included in the quoted purchase price.
DT.
How can you include postage it may need sending to the UK low cost OR it could also go anywhere in the world so High cost

as to the above bridge strike
Quote from Cromford Canal and the High Peak Trail on facebook
We are sorry to say, the High Peak Trail is closed at Longcliffe (approx. 4 miles west of Middleton Top).
Our Highways Department have had to remove the bridge over the road that a lorry ran into yesterday as it was unsafe. The bridge is part of our industrial heritage and is listed but we will re-build it using as many parts of the structure as possible.
The bridge carried the High Peak trail over the road, so at this point, the trail is closed. We are looking for an alternative route for the trail and will keep you posted.
As soon as we have timescales for re-building the bridge we will let you know. Its going to cost a lot to fix with it been listed

True, but many of us go with the 'View New Content' link which means the headline is what catches our attention, rather than the smaller print underneath saying who replied to whom in what category.
But I put 4mm were any plates for New South Wales would be 3.5mm/HO
-
But as its been Posted in the Welsh Area Group why would it be about Australian New South Wales ??
