Only three LMS lined black liveries? More like thirty! ...
Rather depends on one's definition of "livery" ................ I suspect your thirty includes many variants the yer average bloke in the street wouldn't spot ! 😊

Never mind all that 'M' stuff - a 246 bus and class 377 should get me to Maidstone ! ( ASLEF permitting )

... unless they ended up on the dirt as a consequence !

"In many cases, the letters refer to the ends of the line of route" so my guess of Glasgow was probably right ....... though, presumably 'G' designation starts at Euston so isn't much of a help !

How do you re-signal concrete ???!? 🙄

I did wonder whether it was km .......... presumably I was wrong about Glasgow district !

I like the way somebody's carefully sign-written "Condemned wagon on loan to The Chief Engineer's Department".
Not on this one they didn't : -

If 451 is miles from - presumably - Euston and G is the division ( Glasgow ? ) then the industry in the background might be something to do with Ravenscraig ................. but that's a lot of IFs an' I dunno nuffink ! ✋

Now explain where the
trackembankment has gone between the end of the sidings and the stop blocks ! -

Obviously not been near the confessional recently !

Looks like it's only the frame on the rear of the skip that's fouled ...... difficult to tell whether it was bent backwards beforehand but it looks to have scraped under the bash beam then jammed under the bridge itself : is there a design flaw there ??!?

... There is no definitive answer. Generally at next overhaul. ...
While a particular wagon might have been due works attention on 1st January 1923 and could, in theory, have received Southern livery, it's unlikely the appropriate Committees had decided what that livery would be ! .............. there was probably a delay and there may have been wagons turned out in complete pre-grouping liveries or pre-grouping paintwork lettered 'SR' before things settled down.

... It's a standard gangway vs. Pullman gangway, they aren't compatible without an adaptor.
M32978M obviously works with Mk1s most of the time so I don't doubt the gangways have adaptors .......... difficult to tell from the mangled remains, though !

Certainly the B1 was soon spinning its wheels at great speed !

Shows how good spring buffers are ......... both locos rebounded much further than you'd expect !

Most locos - on all British railways - were getting plain black repaints at this time ...... IF repainted at all.
