  1. The h class sets I’ve looked at we’re all from one place and the other items I mentioned were from another big well known online place. The latter were at least very helpful and gave the impression of caring. Not sure what I should say about the former with the h class sets. I don’t think they cared that all their stock was screwed.
  2. Gee lucky you - I just opened a retail new Hornby b17 and two wheels were clearly bent out of shape. I am not having a good Hornby week! My new O gauge wagons are also damaged. I’m cursed.... When the next boxes arrive I’ll be pouring myself a stiff one to better cope.
  3. Well guys very bad news - I inspected two more new sets and all had similar issues - I got so irritated and frankly fed up that I took my money back. I really hope you are luckier.
  4. Thanks guys - I’m worried if I try any harder to get the body off the underframe the thing will crunch into pieces. Since I also have the extreme lateral movement on the loco chassis - and I bothered to buy it retail - I’m going to let Gaugemaster sweat over this one. I don’t pay retail for this nonsense. If I didn’t have warranty I would keep at it though. Will be interesting to find out how your guys’ sets turn out - I hope you are lucky. I’ll be at Gaugemaster again tomorrow - and I’ll inspect a set before I take another one away. T.
  5. I only started my new OO gauge venture as some light relief to my regular occupation/daily heartache of 1 gauge and O gauge. I wanted something with instant joy/ hassle free pleasure. So far I’m not getting it! Maybe I should stick to the big boys if this keeps happening.
  6. Thanks for the tip - I checked but the tabs appeared to be properly in place. Here is a more extreme shot:
  7. I’m sorry to report more bad news - I’ve noticed the skirting board in the driving composite is distinctly bent downwards on both ends on the one side - the other side is unaffected. This pack is going back! What a bore. And it’s a real shame ‘cause this set looks so beautiful....
  8. Here’s a photo if that helps. Mine is all in perfect cosmetic condition - she is however not the smoothest of runners, a small jerking action is present, sometimes I don’t notice it as much. But the main issue is the rear of the chassis freely slides from one side to the other a little too much for my liking, she often ends up a little askew after going round curves - is that a common problem with the Hornby H class?
  9. Hi all, I‘d like to say I think you should all enjoy the many options you have available in the oo scale from Bachmann etc. I come from a continental 1 gauge and uk o gauge background. I’m currently enjoying the relative instant joy of an oo gauge layout. Trust me guys the latest stuff out there is really terrific and compared to other scales it really is all very reasonably priced (compared to what one needs to fork out for 1 gauge (sometimes more than 1K for 1 coach!) it’s dirt cheap in terms of value for money) - i say just enjoy it - and be greatful Bachmann and Hornby are still here at all.
  10. Hello All, Has anyone with a CS3 tried importing loco images from a usb stick? I’ve tried following the process that apparently worked on the CS2 but it doesn’t seem to work for the CS3 - no images are detected on the USB content viewer... Regards, Thomas Wallner
  11. Thank you Mr Grabowsky - it's great that you have read this thread and have offered your assistance.
  12. I find these issues with the BSK shocking. I don't understand how any of us could accept it in that state. I don't agree with Jim's last comment. I respect that we all have different priorities and tolerances of inaccuracies, but this is madness I would think for most o gauge modellers. Why would I spend £750 for a set of 4 coaches, 2 of which are plain wrong and, as was said earlier, fictitious? That's enough money for me to care about this. Most of us care about accuracy here. I hope Darstaed gets informed of this ridiculous issue. Regards, Thomas Wallner
