    Limited edition 66

I noticed there isn't any electrification on that line and the 92's panto wasn't raised (obviously) thus wondered there must have been another diesel powered loco at the other end and now we know which one.

Too be honest so did I and then I went to their product page and saw it was an extra cost unless it is now part of the £169.95 price and they haven't updated their website??? Even their post above shows the model with extra logo's but they only mention the extra £30 for weathering, maybe TMC can confirm please?
  3. DRS Crewe thanks, must have missed that one within Google Images. Thus this model would represent pre-2014 or thereabouts which helps out a lot especially when people model or collect for specific time periods/era's.

No worries, but no the extra £15 is to add the front end logos on top of the £169.95 list price and then an extra £10-£15 more if you want the parts pack fitted to either one or both ends. Check the link to the product and extra costs here: https://www.themodelcentre.com/32-738Z/ Cheers Steve
  5. Most humble apologies, yes was thinking of the Mk4 DVT. Also looking at the Kernow advert noticed the extra sensors haven't been fitted to driving end on this particular DVT which are quite evident on the prototype, do you think Hornby will bother or will it be a case of nearly there but no cigar like their last NR HST release (front end colour issues)? I have researched images of 82124 and couldn't find any where it didn't have the extra bits fitted on the front end, unless someone has prototypical images of 82124 without the sensors?
  6. That's actually good news for my wallet, really looking forward to this shed and it's gloss finish.

I do really like it and have most of the special edition sheds in my collection but have to say it does have an eye watering price if you want to add the end logo detail pushing it up to £184.95, personally I feel this should be included in the £169.95 selling price whether or not they are fitted at the point of manufacture. I would eventually purchase it but not for a few months post release and if they have sold out when I have decided to buy then so be it, my wallet can't take this hit just yet as I've pre-ordered both sheds from Rails and the Colas/DRS 47's Rep specials. Fingers crossed there is stock left later in 2018, btw how many of these are being made?
  8. Shame the same old crappy tooling is being used and instead let's just flog a dead horse and cynically slap another livery on the existing DVT...painted on light clusters anyone. Would I buy one? Not sure at this stage and would only be swayed by the fact I have all the other Network Rail coaches and loco's thus might as well add this until someone else comes along in a few years and re-tools it, based on the forthcoming OO Gauge Class 90 & 92 I highly doubt it will be Hornby. JDW, I'll be that person for you
  9. I actually rang Rails yesterday about delivery and they said end-Jan into February 2018.
  10. Thanks Mick, have seen Chiltern 68's haul wagons of different types thus yes in lieu of suitable coaching stock that can be done. If either Hornby or Oxford Rail come up with Chiltern or even DRS coaching stock they will be a huge seller and surprised they haven't already especially Hornby, maybe they're beavering away in the background to make this happen???
  11. Most of them are Chiltern's and 2nd batch DRS 68's, only seen one 1st batch DRS 68 for sale. Btw is there any coaching stock to run with the Chiltern 68's, just wondering whether the lack of suitable coaching stock is the reason why so many of them are unsold on eBay and online retailers?
  12. Wow DCC Supplies were quick in dispatching my 3 replacement body shells, got them this morning even though I only posted my old ones to them just last Thursday, also came in their own ice cube packaging so well done to Dapol & DCC Supplies for the efficient service. All 4 of my 68's now happily together with the perfect DRS livery, may now have to go buy 68003 Astute now...
  13. Didn't anyone realise that's Bachmann's brand new re-tooled Class 66 EP sample, they're just doing them life size now and touring around the UK to show it off...btw there's a lounge inside of it
  14. Hi Dave or Anyone, Just wanted to find out how you create those graphical train formations that you publish on your website & here on RMWEB i.e. your recent RHTT formations and others found in modelling magazines. Is there specific software to do this which is available to the public? Cheers Steve
  15. Got my 68008 Avenger today...just beautiful and contender for diesel locomotive model of the decade unless it is trumped between now & 2020. Also I see Dapol have added extra bits to their packaging like extra foam and plastic inserts for the bogies, nice work. Edit: Does anyone know if the drilled brake disk inserts are etched or transfers on the new models?
  16. But you forgot to mention the quite good quarterly magazine, apart from that I end up selling the collector wagon on ebay to someone who really wants it and get nearly half my membership back and yes agree in regards to the collector club models but I did purchase the WCR 37 & Coaches set which was a bargain too be honest compared to what's out there today and their prices. Again, couldn't give a rats about the Bachmann Lounge at exhibitions but overall the Bachmann Club is still worth it and Hornby/Dapol should follow their lead when it comes to collector club memberships. Btw I suppose you couldn't give some feedback on those overheard stomach churning conversions, just out of curiosity and a laugh
  17. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to find out if anybody knows where you can get the software or the ability to create your own UK Train Formations like they do in magazines and more recently on Hatton's website for their new RHTT Wagons which show the RHTT with classic traction formations. I would find the ability to do this myself with my own model rolling stock quite useful as well as mapping out any future formations I would like to have in model form, I am purely talking about modern image traction thus all of todays operators, their loco's and available wagons within the UK fleet. Any info on where do get this or on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks. Steve
  18. Personally I joined the Bachmann Club because it has a great quarterly Collector's Club Magazine, annual wagon and access to Collector Club Models which for me leaves both Hornby & Dapol way behind in that respect why is why I am no longer a member of their so-called clubs. I'm not bothered whether I can have access to and touch a grey EP samples of a model if I go to an exhibition and too be honest the only one I can afford to go to within my travelling distance is Ally Pally thus only once a year, I have visited their Club Lounge at Ally Pally but it is neither here or there for me. Basically I want to see the finished painted product just before it is released and heavily rely on guys like you in these forums and magazines to give an opinion on build quality and accuracy just before or during it's release and at that point is the only time I will decide whether the model/product is the right one for me. I think photo's are enough of an EP sample to determine whether the product will be good or not as already shown in this forum.
  19. Yep that's answered the question, yes it would look out of place thus maybe put on a shelf or sat on a siding heavily weathered and for the hell of it...modern image from 2012 onwards. It just looks really good, anyway what is used today if a diesel loco completely comes off the tracks?
  20. Absolutely, would be rude not to...
  21. Yes can't wait for the Class 90, btw can the Crane be used on a modern image layout or would it just look stupid and out of place? I really like it and me wants it...
  22. Yes correct but thought at least Bachmann would be adding the lighting feature on these models, if not then that would be disappointing but we shall see what happens.
  23. Yes in Bachmann's forthcoming new release of the revised/re-tooled Class 20 which will initially come in the DRS Blue, DRS Compass and Harry Needle livery, there is no release date yet. Considering it's just an expression of interest atm it is highly likely it will be the new tooled 20 that will get the heritage makeover which will look fantastic in OO and I'm sure it would sell-out.
  24. Yes got that email as well, no details about who to send it to or how to label the package thus will wait until further comms are sent.
