  1. I work in IT management for a large company 110,000 staff and one of my accountable areas is the corporate website, if this did occur on my watch I would be kicked out the door to be frank, it would never be considered acceptable.
  2. Looks very nice, commercially for Bachmann it is great idea to produce as many Scotrail 47\7 units as they can as they sure are popular.
  3. Very unusual method of doing business, why not just leave the old site up until the new systems are ready! All they had to do was add the newer releases to the old system, seems a real mess what is going on.
  4. Picked one up today and what a great model it is. Really superb finish. Did see many people buying them. When I left some were still for sale but the levels are going down fast
  5. Really? Online pictures of this specific unit very much resemble later seating of the Chapman type, perhaps I need new glasses.
  6. It would not be common for such latency when introducing a new site, the old site would be fully updated so day to day functions and advertising are as before and only replaced when the new site is feature ready and fit for purpose. Don't Bachmann just have one IT person that does everything? Such as website development, system management, networking, security, servers etc, for a 10 million pound net worth business they likely need to increase the headcount in that area, only they know for sure.
  7. Livery of 150216 looks very nice indeed, being pedantic the interior does not match the prorotype, that unit has Chapman seats fitted which are a different shape, the shape of the grey seating mould (which would Be nicer if Bachmann painted these) are of the original style seats fitted by BREL.
  8. It would require another bodyshell to be tooled, or potentially with some additional inserts in the tooling a good attempt at the driving cars could be made but realistically an additional bodyshell makes sense for the respective driving cars we also need to be mindful of the centre car which would need to be included. There are quite a number of changes of this series the obvious ones are, automatic crew doors unlike the manual type on the 150\1, BR used manual types on the 150\1 as an economy measure although automatic powered doors did return for the 150\2. The passenger doors are different also very slightly. There was also the Class 154 which really was a 350hp Class 150 cleared for 90mph but that would need the air con equipment being included as well as other underfloor changes being made and require further expensive tooling options.
  9. The body does not have the tooling for the centre door window on the 150\2. In addition the 150\1 does not have the original cowling. This rules out the 150\2 fleet being correctly recreated until the door started to be blanked off in around 1997\98. the units before this date cannot be done to reflect the prototype. The 150\1 started to have the cowling modified in the early 90's this means units from the 80's cannot be recreated.
  10. It is good to see that the Class 156 seems to be selling really well, it deserves to be a success and it has been. I see the Provincial ones also being very popular when they arrive. I know the site states March arrival but my instincts feel with the delays it will likely be around August.
  11. The original Provincial livery though carried by the units when built had a lower front valance. Look at the many pictures, the Bachmann tooling does not have the as built lower valance on the 150\1. The Trains4U example was 150135 which retained a very scruffy and worn original Provincial livery and was one of the very few (perhaps the only unit?) to retain the original livery and have the valance\lower cowling modified.
  12. Public sector is a different subject, I did say generally in respect of earning more. In my specific example I earn just under three times what I did when I lived in the North West. This is for the exact same role and if anything the working hours and schedule were more demanding in the North.
  13. I never said the South East was full of happy people or better in any way, but it sure is expensive! Salary figures are much much higher though (generally speaking)
  14. An issue is they cannot unless they release it with an error! This livery needs the window on the centre door, Bachmann decided not to tool this.
  15. Just my opinion but I feel they have missed revenue opportunities with the 150, so many livery options not done even for the BR era, they are releasing a Northern 150\2 in the 2018 series of products but if they released a 150\1 in the same livery options e.g. Northern people would likely buy the two of them. I never did purchase any 150's though simply due to the engine block I am still not happy with the current reduced engine block since the retool. The fact the 150\1 has the underframe of the 150\2 does not help either, there should only be a single connection from the radiator on the 150\1 and not the two that is present on the model. In my humble opinion it needs a full retool, others will disagree but right from the start of the original release the engine block ruined the model for me at least. They also did not include the valance in the tooling for the units as built.

    Class 142

That would be a model that should sell in large numbers, and being a 3-car the tooling costs should not be too excessive one would hope. There were rumours years past that Bachmann were looking at the 323 but this is unlikely to be the case now. The seats might be a bit firm on the prototype but they have held up well and have been a very successful EMU design.
  17. It is a very different world in the South East, even in locations such as the East of England take Cambridge for example £500k will not go as far as you would think. For £120-130k in these parts you would get nothing.

    Class 142

What a stylish livery the GMPTE RR variant was. In the days when the railways had professional livery and corporate images unlike the tacky garbage (Northern I am thinking of you) that has come since.
  19. Good luck with that salary when in many areas to get a decent family house you are looking at £500k and upwards
  20. Sub £25k is very low, many people in the South East would not get out of bed for that kind of salary. Thought it would be quite low pay but that figure surprises me. I know salary details vary based on region somewhat but that is low. Bachmann do have quite a small headcount I seem to recall at Barwell it was circa 40 staff? Quite a small headcount for a company that according to its last registered accounts has wealth in-excess of £10 million and with just over £1 million in cash sat in the bank. They do seem to have some outstanding debt with Barclays but still considering the headcount and small payroll has reasonably healthy financials.
  21. Agree somewhat that it is in the real world, but it is not the complete process if you include engineering. Bachmann Europe plug directly in to Kader framework and they are customer (although owned by them of course), sure the design work is done in Barwell but I would not consider it end to end.
  22. Cannot see it paying that much no mention of salary, a sub £50k role I would of thought? The best of luck to all that apply though, at least house prices are quite cheap in that part of the world compared to the South East.
  23. Bachmann 2018 catalogue pages 116 and 117 show the coaches with unpainted seating sadly. No mention these were hand painted, they may well be but it does not state this. We will have to wait and see what is released....
  24. These coaches would benefit from a window destination label for sure. Is there any small printing retailer known that would offer such a service of selling them?
  25. From what has been released in terms of samples the seating looks an unpainted generic grey which is not like the prototype it would seem.
