  1. Apologies for the lack of recent updates, but lockdown means I finally have time to share pics of the latest happenings on the layout, prior to the temporary closure of the club a few weeks ago. The lift tower mockup in place alongside the footbridge that will lead to the station facilities. The mockup of the platform building and canopy as well as the staircase. My GWR 153 was used for scale purposes. Keep well with all that is happening.
  2. More trains and more pics will come as we work on different elements of the layout. In the meantime, here is something that we don't usually run - a Heljan Virgin 86!
  3. The retaining wall is coming along nicely! Hopefully by the next update we will feature some trains.
  4. I may not post as often as I should, but I direct all readers to this thread to see the amazing new Eastgate cartoons: There is a new one done by our group leader every week!
  5. Looking good as always - totally not a member of this layout!
  6. The open day was a success! Some pictures... Another general view of the station area. Class 90 fest! My weathered Hornby one is in the foreground, with SprinterMan30's 2 Bachmann Class 90s in the background. Class 37s and 67s ruled the 'Spinner' loco hauled services, both as DMU replacements and as football extras. Finally, a 2 car Pendolino! This is why SprinterMan30 should not be in charge of rolling stock... Thank you to all those who attended. It was a lovely day.
  7. We hope to have some diverse rolling stock in operation as well. It is our first open day since we had the platform added!
  8. Apologies for the lack of updates, but we are working very hard behind the scenes. Eastgate station now has an island platform! Once other works have completed, the backscene will be built (currently in progress), allowing for the station building to come into place. The following pictures were taken on the 22nd June at Twickenham Library:The information board for events, including maps and our 'Eastgate Folk' cartoons created by our group leader! 2 Class 153s await their next passenger duties at the station whilst 68008 stands in the sidings. All 3 models are mine. A general overview of the station board with DMUs working local services. All photos are my own. Thank you for reading!
  9. This layout looks brilliant so far! Can't wait to see the progress! I also intend on modelling the WCML in the Watford area.
  10. I like this idea! Gives my 68 something to pull bar random Mk3s.
  11. Sorry for the recent lack of updates but we have made good progress! We were on the baseboards, then the track laying and now finally the point motors! Pics and further updates can be seen on the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TwickenhamMRC/
  12. Hi, I do not know which decoder was used in the DCC fitted version. However, I have found that ESU do a RailCom transmitter unit suitable for an ESU V4 decoder.. Link: http://www.esu.eu/en/products/accessories/railcomr-transmitter-unit/ I hope this helps.
  13. Yes - I would recommend them! They are easy to assemble and great to knock up a layout quickly. I am even considering using them on my home layout! Link to shop homepage: https://www.modelrailwaysolutions.co.uk/index.htm I hope this helps.
