  1. I've been using fusion360 for about 18 months now and so far I've not been asked to take out a subscription. When you consider the functionality you get from fusion360 and compare it to to Soildworks where a subscription can cost upwards of £200 per month , i'd say £236 pa is great value. Jonathan
  2. Just looked at the website for the first time and couldn't help noticing the absence of rail.
  3. The FastTrack sleeper bases referenced by the op have a 1.5mm thick solid sleeper. The SMP, C&L, and dcc concepts track is based on a thin (0.8mm) sleeper so would require packing to get the rails heads to align Jonathan
  4. The easiest way to achieve this is to use a RailCom with a lenz LRC120 display. Jonathan
  5. Distance Selling Regulations no longer apply in the UK as they were superseded by 'The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013' Part 5 regulation 42 covers the delivery of goods Time for delivery of goods 42.—(1) This regulation applies to any sales contract. (2) Unless the trader and the consumer have agreed otherwise, the contract is to be treated as including a term that the trader must deliver the goods to the consumer. (3) Unless there is an agreed time or period, the contract is to be treated as including a term that the trader must deliver the goods— (a)without undue delay, and (b)in any event, not more than 30 days after the day on which the contract is entered into. (4) In this regulation— (a)an “agreed” time or period means a time or period agreed by the trader and the consumer for delivery of the goods, but (b)if there is an obligation to deliver the goods at the time the contract is entered into, that time counts as the “agreed” time. (5) Paragraphs (6) and (7) apply if the trader does not deliver the goods in accordance with paragraph (3) or at the agreed time or within the agreed period. (6) If the circumstances are that— (a)the trader has refused to deliver the goods, (b)delivery of the goods at the agreed time or within the agreed period is essential taking into account all the relevant circumstances at the time the contract was entered into, or ©the consumer told the trader before the contract was entered into that delivery in accordance with paragraph (3), or at the agreed time or within the agreed period, was essential, then the consumer may treat the contract as at an end. (7) In any other circumstances, the consumer may specify a period that is appropriate in the circumstances and require the trader to deliver the goods before the end of that period. (8) If the consumer specifies a period under paragraph (7) but the goods are not delivered within that period, then the consumer may treat the contract as at an end. (9) If the consumer treats the contract as at an end under paragraph (6) or (8), the trader must without undue delay reimburse all payments made under the contract. (10) If paragraph (6) or (8) applies but the consumer does not treat the contract as at an end— (a)that does not prevent the consumer from cancelling the order for any of the goods or rejecting goods that have been delivered, and (b)the trader must without undue delay reimburse all payments made under the contract in respect of any goods for which the consumer cancels the order or which the consumer rejects. (11) If any of the goods form a commercial unit, then the consumer cannot reject or cancel the order for some of those goods without also rejecting or cancelling the order for the rest of them. (12) A unit is a “commercial unit” if division of the unit would materially impair the value of the goods or the character of the unit. (13) This regulation does not prevent the consumer seeking other remedies where it is open to the consumer to do so. Jonathan
  6. Quick update Having previously switched off 'run on DC' via decoder pro, I've subsequently discovered that this doesn't actually alter the value set in CV29. The default setting for CV29 is 46, following the link to the 2mm scale associations CV29 calculator I have come up with the value 42, Writing this value into CV29 has cured the jerkiness completly. However now some of the sounds - both automatic and switchable do not work as before, so one step forward and two back. Biffo has been in touch and hopefully things will be sorted soon. Thanks for all the advice and input Jonathan
  7. Hi Rex, Thanks for the suggestions I've turned off the 'dc' mode in Decoderpro but, unfortunately it hasn't made any difference. I'm beginning to wonder if the decoder has a component level fault (unfortunalt I don't have another 21 pin loksound to test that theory out) Regarding the suppression caps. these were removed as a matter of routine when i first got the model. Back then it was fitted with a Lenz decoder and it ran perfectly. It was only after shelling out £118 to upgrade the model with sound that the problem manifests itself. In the meantime I've PM'd Biffo describing the issue and I'm hopeful that he'll be able to come up with a solution. Jonathan
  8. I have a Bachmann MPV which is very jerky when running in a specific configuration on DCC. The model is fitted with a Loksound V4 from Legomanbiffo I initially went down the ‘autotune’ route, however this has made no difference to the model’s performance. Repeating the operation multiple times again makes no difference . As the model had been converted to P4 I wondered if it was something mechanical which was causing the jerky running. I acquired a new drive bogie from Bachmann along with a new motor (I had previously removed the capacitors from the motor). Fitting these essentially retuning the model to ‘stock’ condition proved that the conversion was not the cause of the poor running. Returning to the decoder, I tried both a Bachmann cheap-o decoder and a Lenz Silver in the MPV and both run faultlessly right through the speed range, refit the Loksound V4 and the jerkiness returns. I also put the 21-pin blanking plug in and tested the model on DC and as expected there was no jerkiness. As a final test I tried the V4 is several other models (class 40, 37, 150) and surprisingly no jerkiness. I’m at a loss as to a way forward. The jerkiness only manifests itself in the MPV, but not in any model tested. Any thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated Jonathan
  9. Just hope MK Dons aren't playing at home that weekend. Jonathan
  10. I prefer to use GS-Hypo cement for glazing https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/gs-supplies-hypo-tube-cement/566231-1000 Jonathan
  11. Just for the record, I purchased Experian business reports for both Cooper Craft and Ford Nursery on 30/10/17. From the reports their addresses are listed as: FORD NURSERY WILLOWS, OAKE, TAUNTON, SOMERSET, TA4 1BE COOPER CRAFT WILLOWS, BROOM LANE, OAKE, TAUNTON, SOMERSET, TA4 1BE Jonathan
  12. Worldpay are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to provide payment services. ( https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_FirmDetailsPage?id=001b000000MgFxSAAV ) Jonathan
  13. Should have followed up with that line, but I doubt he would have seen the funny side. Jonathan
  14. At the Spalding show last weekend I spoke with one of the Bachmann reps, and he said that they are intending to have CAD renderings of the 158 on display at Warley. Jonathan
  15. Perhaps the exhibition manager should have gone round to each layout running sound in advance of 11:00 to ensure they had time to shut each loco down. Alternatively F8 will mute the sound. Jonathan
  16. I always flush my Iwata Eclipse with Premi Air liquid reamer ( https://airbrushes.com/product_info.php?products_id=574 ) followed by Medea airbrush cleaner ( https://airbrushes.com/product_info.php?products_id=7 ) Jonathan
  17. With the benefit of hindsight, having read through the responses to my earlier post I'll freely concede the the suggestion doesn't stand up to any level of scrutiny, and the phraseology created an unintended level of ambiguity and on these points I'll apologise. The suggestion of scanning the kits was only intended as a throwaway idea. Jonathan
  18. Just a thought but, would be feasible to have the sprues from all the wagon kits 3D scaned, to preserve the range digitally at least for the time being? Jonathan
  19. I wonder if Meths applied with a cotton bud might help to lift the paint off the surface. Jonathan
  20. See the post at the top of the linked page for a brief history of the ownership http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/66297-news-from-cooper-craftblacksmithslaterskirk-lnermailcoach-kits/page-8 I'm not sure where PayPal fit into the current situation as it is not referred to anywhere on the Cooper Craft website. Therefore mention, and or discussion of the relationship between vendor, purchaser and PayPal within the confines of this thread, seems to be something of a tangential issue. I would consider that fact that he is still being invited to shows, allied to the fact that someone is paying the hosting company to 'maintain' his website as a good thing. All the while his attending shows we can be reassured that the ranges he owns are 'safe', Its the day when he disappears from the exhibition circuit that we should all be concerned by. Jonathan
  21. I would agree in part, however the plant wholesale business which trades from the same address is in good financial shape with a healthy credit limit and a high Delphi score (source: Experian business report). This would suggest that the owner is quite capable of running a modest business, but rather it is a lack of technical knowledge, specifically that required to maintain the production equipment which is ultimately the cause of the present situation. Jonathan
  22. And it won't be through lack of support, offers of help/assistance both technical and financial from the modelling community. Privately, I suggest we've all been hoping for some positive news about the molding machine, but recent events have only confirmed the worst. All we can do now is wait for the inevitable and hope that a company like Slaters or Peco are ready to jump in and buy up the assets. Jonathan
  23. Sadly i think Jol is correct in that its only a matter of time before the business folds, and when this does happen, it will more than likely take several other ranges with it.
