  1. That would explain why those cv values remained unchanged. Legomanbiffo's notes supplied with the decoder describe how to perform the autotune but then conflate that with reference to adjusting cv 5/6. I've got a copy of the south west digital "how to set up BEMF" so I'll work through that and see what happens. Jonathan
  2. Thanks for looking out that passage on auto tune. I ran it a couple of times and made a note of the resultant cv 5 and cv 6 values. On each occasion the values were 190 and 95 respectively. After bench testing this afternoon I'm now fairly sure the problem is mechanical. Removing the leading axle and testing the unit on a rolling road succeeded in eliminating the jerkyness. My next job will be to replace the axle and re-test. Jonathan
  3. Thanks for the suggestion Geoff. I'll have a look at manually tweaking the BEMF and see that improved things. Jonathan
  4. I have a P4 Bachmann MVP which is noticeably jerky when running at slow speed. it was run in prior to converting to P4 and then tested on DC afterwards. It was originally fitted it with a lenz standard and it ran smoothly. Lately i fitted a sound decoder (loksound v4 from Legomanbiffo) and now its noticeably jerky until speedstep 24. I'm at a loss for a diagnosis as it worked fine on DC, then with a lenz and even a Bachmann decoder, but when the loksound is fitted the jerkiness is back. I've gone through the cv54 to zero autotune but that made no difference. All the pickups are adjusted with light pressure on the wheel backs and the plastic crimps that Bachmann use for anchoring the wires have been removed and the wires soldered. Any suggestions for what to try next? Jonathan
  5. Has this situation been brought to the attention of World pay, as surely as the provider of merchant services they could act to stop payments being taken via the web interface? Jonathan
  6. Could there be some form of retarder in the paint to slow the drying time and allow it to self-level?
  7. Trotec - www.engraving-supplies.co.uk are the UK distributor for Rowmark products. You'll need to contact them for materials sales. The stuff you are most likely after is 3X1-204 bright white. Jonathan
  8. Posted the first few kits today - unsurpriingly Royal mail have put up their prices and whats shocking is that it costs the same to send one of my kits to New Zealand as it does to send it special delivery for Saturday a delivery. Jonathan
  9. Quick update I have just sent out the batch 2&3 emails. Jonathan
  10. Bright isn't it, and the box is also the large enough to hold the model when its finished. Jonathan
  11. The last two kits have now been allocated. I will start a list for a fourth if there is sufficient demand Jonathan
  12. Quick update. Production of batches 2 and 3 will be starting next week. There are only two kits left un-reserved so anyone who wants one and hasn't already been in touch eiher by PM or email to enquiries@clockworkideas.co.uk don't delay. Jonathan
  13. Good news, the castings are here!! It will take a day to sort theough and pack them into lots to go in the kits, and all being well I will be contacting the first 30 people on the list with payment instructions. Jonathan
  14. Still waiting for the castings I'm afraid. The order was placed with the molders for 60 sets of castings (which will cover the first and second batches) at the start of Jan, so I am hoping to take delivery soon. Production has been split into three batches (30 kits per batch) the first batch is boxed and ready to go as soon as the castings arrive. I will be roling the second and thid batches into one production run. There are only 10 kits left un-allocated from the third batch. Jonathan
  15. Quick update The sample resin castings have arrived (at last!) so I will be placing an order in the new year for sufficient sets to cover the three production batches. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year Jonathan
  16. 4 days actually ( 2 to build and a further 2 for paint and trafers) Dave is test building the C100RT variant, above is the C80RT built as a test bed for the sound decoder. Jonathan
  17. Just a quick update. I have been informed by the company producing the resin castings for the kit, that due to staff shortages they are currently running a couple of weeks behind with orders. This means that hopefully I the first batch of kits will be ready mid Dec. I am currently building up a kit to showcase the sound chip produced for DC-Kits by Legomanbiffo which will be on show on the DC-kits stand at the NEC. Jonathan
  18. Thanks for the info. I had forgotten that Nigel Lawton also does belt drives. Good to hear that the bogies have sufficient clearance to fit P4 wheels (with the pin-points removed?) Is the drive system designed with a particular motor in mind - will there ba an etched or 3d printed mounting frame/cradle? Jonathan
  19. Been checking in on this thread every so often, great to see the progress being made on the drive system. Will the bogie(s) and associated drive components be avaliable in EM and P4? Assuming the drive system is based around parts from Hollywood Foundry, my understanding was that the wheel sets were only avaliable in OO (for this type of drive) , and come ready assembled with the pulley mounted on the axle. Jonathan
  20. Hi Dan Couple of questions, is the 37 all axle drive or the earlier 2 axle drive, and is the noice electrical or mechanical (buzz or click) My 37 made a clicking noice which I managed to trace after back to both drive shafts being fitted the wrong way round. Turning them round and made a great inprovement. Jonathan
  21. Its slightly less than 75 kits, but I want to make sure I've got a stock of spares. The USP5000C is progressing slowly. I received a couple of CDs a few weeks back of prototype photos - in excess of 500, and from these I I'm formulating a mental plan of how the kit might go together. Jonathan
  22. Quick update: Demand for kits since the article went into Railexpress Modeller has taken me completely by surprise and as a result I have had to rethink the production schedule. Put a different way each kit has 29 resin castings and to produce sufficient to fulfil the current orders would take me around 3 weeks at the current rate of progress (incomplete mold fill or air bubbles have currently given me a reject rate of 75% - a combo of using open molds and brand new easyflo60 resin). I've been intouch with a few contract resin casters to get quotes for a small production run (if 2175 castings counts as a small production run) I will post an update in the next few days. Jonathan
  23. Thank for the link Rabs, Couldn't find anything on booklet printing though, closest was the A4 wiro binding which came out at £5 per unit (miles cheaper than staples though). I'll drop them an email and see what they come back with. jonathan
