  1. Thanks Richard, apologies I couldn't log on to the site for a few days. Do you mind me asking how much this is probably worth? It also has a DCC supplies speaker with it.
  2. thanks. I know it has class 57 sound, so would it be correct in selling it as Lonksound Class 57?
  3. Hi I bought a Bachmann Network rail Class 57 that had DCC sound fitted. I removed the DCC Sound chip and speaker (pics attached), but can't remember which company made this particular DCC Sound chip? Is there any way to work this out as I'm now looking to sell it but don't have a Bachmann Class 57 to try it on? Thanks!
  4. Hi Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am looking to sell my entire collection of modern OO gauge Hornby/Bachmann trains. I can't seem to be able to list on the Classifieds section, however, even when this is rectified, is it possible to list my entire collection as one advert, rather than 20 separate adverts? Thanks Hamish
  5. There is no need to be so forthcoming and abrupt. I’m simply asking a question. As a young person and a relative newbie to model railways, with an attitude like yours, how are new people meant to understand the hobby, let alone inject much needed revenue into buying these models in the first place?
  6. Hi all, As the Hornby R3762 is a Class 800/1, is it not technically meant to be a 9-car train? I've obviously found the R3762 5-car train pack, but I can't find the extra 4 coaches (that are supposedly meant to be with this train) on the Hornby website, or am I mistaken, and is this only meant to be a 5-car train? Hornby released the two-car IEP test train, and has now launched a 3-car pack to make it a full 5-car pack, does this mean the R3762 LNER is meant to be run as a 5-car train then? Thanks
  7. What Will Hornby release a 9-car version of the LNER IEP? Or even a 9-car version of the GWR Green IEP? I ask, as I'm not sure if I should get the 5-car versions, as I really prefer longer trains (I collect HSTs and generally have 8x/9x coach rakes for each. Thanks
  8. Thanks everyone! Technically speaking though, if say for example I wanted to create a 8 car rake for the 4-car Scotrail HST service, what coaches would I get? Would I get the normal 4 coaches twice? Or would I get those prototypical 4 coaches and get a 3 more Standard open coaches (TSO) and a First class coach (TF) for example?
  9. Thanks chaps. So for the scotrail set, I understand it operates as a 5 car set, therefore I’ll get one of each coach. However, are the GWR, Cross country and LNER HSTs not operating as normal 8 or 9 coach consists? If so, could someone guide me as to what coaches to get for them? Thanks
  10. So when are Bachmann announcing their 2019 range? Sorry I've missed this.
  11. Hi all, Hornby's 2019 has personally been amazing for me as I mainly collect HSTs along with some other diesels/EMUs. However, only being a year or two into the hobby, I'm a bit confused as to why there are so many MK3 Coaches (however, that could turn out to be a good thing, I'll explain below). As such, I collect HSTs and run their full prototypical rakes on my (soon to be) layout. I try to collect 2x of each HST and coaches so that I have 2 sets running in opposite directions from one another. Therefore, could someone please advise the correct 8x/9x MK3 coaches to get for each of the NEW GWR, Scotrail, Cross Country and LNER HSTs? I would really appreciate it. Thanks
  12. So technically speaking, as I have 1x pack of the sleeper coaches, and 1x pack of the day coaches, would that be enough to make a protypical consist of the GWR class 57 sleeper train?
  13. Hi all, Just received an email to say that my Kernow order for the GWR sleeper “day pack” has been shipped. I therefore wanted to double check the formation in which these class 57 GWR sleeper trains normally run so I’m running them correctly. Am I correct in assuming that they have 4x sleeper coaches, and then the 3 coaches that in the day pack (standard, buffet and brake coaches)? Thanks
  14. Hi all, I'm currently saving towards buying the Hornby Class 800. Currently, these are being produced as 5 car sets, however I was thinking of buying the Powercar set, and then 3x 3-car coach packs (which would leave me with 2 spare coaches). I know going down this route is completely prototypical, as there will be similar coaches, and I believe in the 9 car set some of the coaches have different attributes (toilet tanks, brakes etc), however I'm not too much of a prototypical modeller. I of course would rather go down the official 9-car Hornby Class 800 if they were to produce one, however do people think this is possible? Having now owned multiple Hornby retooled 8-car HST sets, I would've thought a 9-car Class 800 isn't too out of the question? Would rather save my money and hold out if Hornby are to release an official 9-car set, but at the same time, I don't want to miss out on these 5-car sets and then have them sell out! Thanks
