  1. I find it sad to say this but having visited for at least 15 or so years I found the show today a shadow of it's former self. I will go no further but if any club member on here would like my thoughts I'd be happy to share them via PM as I don't want to discourage anyone from visiting. I do hope next year's show is a return to form as in the past Shipley has been an excellent show

Well, I thought the show was really good, especially the layouts. Show organisers should always welcome constructive criticism; but yours has been left open-ended, and, I think, should have been delivered in more detail after the show. After all, they can't do much to change the event after day one, can they?

  2. Well It's all over now (says he foolishly) my stint as expoEM Autumn/North exhibition manager (loud cheers from the crowd)

I would like to thank all those who contributed to expoEM North/Autumn this year.

By that I mean the traders, layout owners, line societies, demonstrators, stewards and of course those who paid to see what was (NOT my words) 'Best selection of layouts I have seen at ANY exhibition I've been to. Even said by *4 members as well !'

The winners of the awards were:-

    Best Layout                          Portchullin                 Mark Tatlow

Malcolm Crawley Cup         GWR Metro Tank       Steve Lee

Eileens Emporium Award   Black Lion Hotel     Geoff Kent

There were quite a number of RM web members exhibiting/demonstrating and visiting but only one visitor managed to say hello - and I alredy knew him I am quite amenable to a good natter.

    Once again thank you

Thank you Derek. Your swansong, and, in my view, your best set of layouts -- what a way to go! All the best, Dai

  3. Bottle of Aunt Sally from Lagunitas last night.. today a pint can of "pint" from Marble Brewery.. very refreshing!

The owner of Lagunitas recently did a gig at Brudenell Social Club of your parish. He gave free drinks of Lagunitas pale ale from the bar--very nice, too!

  4. Yes, I can echo this comment. Lovely show, with a good variety of visitors: families, finescalers, you name them. I was helping with Amalgamated Wagon, and hope to be there next year with my layout, Culm.
