  1. It's rather amusing this video .. will we see them release another video in two or three years saying ''watch this space'' after yet another new promising loco arrival like the Class 88, the 93 or perhaps the 99 ... arrives ? and whilst yes, the Accurascales Class 92 may be the newest arrival to this sector of the marketplace, it's the Bachmann 90 that's the most significant of the two, given the 90's more prominent place on the real world network, as opposed to the 92, which, aside from the sleeper service, are barely seen.

  2. Even though I am a follower and modeller with a specialism towards the Skodas, i do regularly see Class 92s and do have a soft spot for them, I did have three EWS beasties Class 92s, 2 x Hornby and 1x Lima - and I am planning to have several Accurascales Class 92s, predominantly in DB, as I am modelling a modern electric traction depot scene -  i have created a playlist of the 92s I have seen out and about:

Video Number 11 is one of my favourites

No worries, Ive got 10 coming, scattered since Feb 2019, I ordered a cheeky one just now… i’m certainly not expecting that today.

but as others get upset, I wont share when any are despatched, but It may be a good indicator where in the queue they are.

my oldest invoice was in the 2400’s, the newest is in the 42000’s.

You have 10 coming ? LOL

There is an eBay seller “amandajane” (AJM Railways Limited) offering Accurascale Class 92’s in various liveries for sale right now.  this includes locos listed as “sold out” by Accurascale.

Same price as the Accurascale website and with free delivery - seems too good to be true…

    Cheers

    Darius

Yes, and there is another - username adca-3942 - who when watching several as I have - have been offered a sound fitted 92 for #265 - i am contemplating a counter offer lol ... for 92042 - but agree it does sound to be too good to be true ... but the 1331 transactions aspect of their ebay history make it look reasonable. They also have examples of the sold out GBRf liveries, it's funny that the GBRf ones are the popular ones, isn't it ?

Note these are for pre-order ... not as in they have them already

Typical! Spent months making my Goal post/A Frame gantry, spending fortunes on brass sections (still not finished) to now find a great looking version is available on eBay. Looks top!

i am more optimistic about yours lasting the course, than the one I've just got but we'll see how this one behaves

Just taken delivery of my third Bachmann 90, DB 90028. It's interesting to see just how close the shades of red are between this and the Hornby 91

Are you going to renumber the second and third into Multimodal and 90035 ?

Don’t need any don’t need any but I’ve got 4 on order 2 paid off already 1 sleeper and 1 gbrf from accurascale the Chinese one from rails and the stobart 1 from kernow all with sound aswel

    cheers Craig

Good work Craig ... I haven't bought one yet ... i just cant make my mind up as to which one is coming first ... originally, it was the YIWU DB one, 92015, more recently, it was the EWS Beasties one, Bertolt Brecht 92036 ... now, i am leaning towards 92042 in DB Schenker ... with a @Squirrel Railweathering ..  Johnson Street will, in time, be choca block with Skips, Sheds, Skodas, Dysons, the occasional Tug and a Gronk.

When it comes to Top Trump's, the 3rd rail ability of the Dysons must play its part, though. 😀

I don't think they actually use them at all anymore ... DB's 92s use to, in the south east ... but because they are no longer permitted to, they aren't and GBRf's 92s, dont ever seem to get there  ... ironically, DB's 92s cross over those parts on the way to Dollands i gather ... correct me if i am wrong there

Quality, versus quantity..... (Sorry, couldn't resist!) LOL!

Plus you need 3 90's, two to pull what a 92 can, and one for failures.  Weren't called 'Skodas' back in the day for nothing.....

Main thing is to enjoy your hobby.

Ahhhh but there's the issue of operational access ... working 90s can go anywhere under the wires, 92s, those under DB can't operate on the English network at present, so the 90s still win, even with their reliability issues. Skodas > Dysons

  10. I have just found myself adopting a NEW member to the DB90 stable at Johnson Street IEMD, having wandered round the Stafford show without seeing anything which really tickled me, aside maybe Preston Model railway's OLE layout - thank you to the gentleman who gave 90030 a run around, light engine, and also the Locomotion Stand where the Bill' exclusive (90028 in DB Cargo red, named Sir William McAlpine) was also on show ... however it was something slightly different which caught my eye - and all will be revealed in due course once a certain weathering and renumbering expert has worked his magic. My question is, do the new batch of 90s have to use the newer Bachmann 90 dcc chip ?

  11.

Following a resolution of the defective OLE at Daventry DIRFT, the DB Cargo Class 90s have returned to duty, 90024 and 90035 on standby at Mossend are now heading down the WCML on 4M30, here, 90026 and 90034 are on 4S49 heading north beyond Crewe bound for Grangemouth in the early hours and 90s, 90029 and 90037 are on standby at Mossend to do 4M25.

  13. I am not a current Heljan Class 86 owner but i've owned several of the predecessors and a few tailored Hornby EWS 86s as well - I plan to have the Cally Sleeper liveried one in WCRC operation and maybe at a push the LSL 86 (86101). One might say I am too busy presently with my Bachmann DB90s:

  14. With the end of the Making Tracks event approaching and with the unfortunate absence of @amertonman I dragged the other half along to Chester Cathedral along with 90026 and 90034, ironically, this pair are currently on duty with Malcolm Rail,

although, truth be told, I don't think they ran over the weekend, hey, I think it would be okay, right, so off we popped, two Rail enthusiasts, two Skodas, a shed and a Ford fiesta.. nice 😉.. okay, so the Shed never made it out, oh well never mind:

If you are thinking of going along because you have never been or you missed it last year why not pop along, Pete Waterman and the team are great, they have even more tech this year including hand held wireless controllers so literally anyone can drive a train.. brilliant.. you can bring along your DCC fitted locos as well...  and it's only £2.50 for a great day's entertainment. Sooo I hear you are saying how can I go along ? Find Chester Cathedral on Google maps, you can park and ride by three different car parks

If this weekend is no good, it's understood this layout is next going to Milton Keynes for the Great Electric Train show on 8th and 9th October 2022

Out of my era but I would buy a Greater Anglia 90, particularly if it was 90001 Crown Point with red buffer beams. 90009 in One Stratford-esque Diamond Jubilee livery with white roofs and Union Jacks would also get the credit card out.

Away from Anglia, I’d have thought a Scotrail Barbie liveried one would sell, and 036 in RFD with yellow roof and EWS beasties is also pretty unique.

Hey @NXEA!, there's a Bachmann Greater Anglia Class 90 on ebay right now

a little while ago, it was someone on here who told me that Olivia's trains had a Malcolm Bachmann 90 for sale, at the time I didn't know where it had come from ... but i couldn't let this chance pass so I duely snapped it up - thank you to that person ... it's still my favourite 90, even though, like the model, the real world example needs some touching up ...

That weathering looks fantastic and the sun visor thingamajigs are wonderful

What will everyone be running their 92 with? As I am also getting some 37s, me 92s will be used to ferry my 37s up the main line so they can start their railtours. Behind the locos will be a mixed wagonload rake where anything goes!

There'll be at least one or two DB92s coming and going from Johnson Street IEMD once the layout build is finished and the plan is to take it to Stafford show. The DB92s as per current affairs will part of a mixed consist featuring DB90s and a 66 or 67 ? just like this:
