Something a little bit different from the norm
I picked up an RFD 90037 with the intention of respraying it into DB red, but with the announcement of DB 90028 and realising 90037 has the wrong buffers and cables on the nose, I decided to keep it as RFD, but add the modern 'Christine' nameplates.
I will keep the cabside BR logos, but I'm presently deliberating on applying DB logos on the opposing cabsides
Cheers,
60800
I like that idea ... that's what DB used to do ... as they did with 90034 as it is now ... and also on 90037 in EWS ...
I was umming and arring doing that to my Barbie 90021 ... DB nose and opposing cabside logo's ... but i recently let go of it ...

I missed it at Glasgow, unlike Guy I didn't have enough time to network.
Sadly Mk1 portal to go with their Mk3 cantilever mast. Visually as daft as a train with HST power cars and Mk1 coaches.
I am also at a loss to what those nipple like features are, Mk1 Portals are welded so they cannot be rivets or bolt heads.
Well, it hasnt advanced much in three years ... i just hope the vertical stanchions are a bit taller ... a Hornby 86 with its panto down on a piece of unmounted track was virtually touching the cantilever holding the contact wire when i saw it ..

It may have been mentioned, but I can’t find it anywhere, who makes the sound files and chips that Bachmann have used in their sound fitted models?
I have bought a previous version in RFD, and would like it to match the newer sound fitted version
I think there are several @47606odin .. of my sound fitted 90s, I have two different ones, Zimo and legomanbiffo..
I think there others as well, as to whom Bachmann use, maybe get i'd touch with them about it

Well, they have taken their time (three years and hmmmm eight 90s later) but they have finally got there ... the ninth 90 and first in a EWS/DBS/DBC era livery
90028 in DB Cargo Red LOL (it would have to be Bill, wouldnt it ? LOL @Squirrel Rail @amertonman
Well, it does look great ... doesn't it ?
And for those wanting a Schenker one, or a different running number, i imagine this will be reasonably adaptable for the following:
DB Schenker 90018, 90029, 90036 and 90040
DB minus Schenker 90018, 90029, 90036 and 90040
DB Cargo (livery above) 90019 ''Multimodal'' and 90035
DB Cargo Glider livery ...''Christine''

It seems to be becoming a regular thing in the last couple of weeks having one or two Skodas parked in the south bay at Rugby during the day, next to the allocated thunderbird 57. It's nice to see! 7th Feb saw 90034 and 90035. At 0745 they had just been parked as I waited for a 350 to Coventry, and still there later that afternoon. I believe they are stabled after arriving in the early hours at Daventry off an overnight Grangemouth train.
Regards
Yes, thats right, they drop off the 4M30 load .. and then head back up the line to Rugby, 4M25 passes by later on, and 4S47 ... they then depart in time to pick up their northbound load for the 4S49 service later on ...

And all this on the back of my favourite two out on duty the week before

Two more 90s joined the party, CB Hall (90035) paired up with DB Blue (90034)
In the week that was, only one 66 ran on Malcolm ... :-)

I imagine my local model shop will have them in soon enough, so we may take Malcolm, Bill or one of the Team Red Skodas in for a sound comparison
I'm not entertaining buying one till @Bachmann catch up with reality, there are more than Freightliner operating the Class 90 currently ... and opting to make the first three era-10/11 90s in their colours, to me, just doesnt make sense ... if it were the other way round, i would still think it was crackers to have done three DB liveried 90s, despite being chuffed about it ...

Sound fitted does make quite a bit of difference on them, doesnt it ?
Does the panto rise and fall still make a noise on these newer ones ?

Interesting choice of buffers, puts it post privatisation (summer 1994), rather than pre, I guess 1994 - 2003… A good choice for VT passenger services, and covers its longest period of running in that livery.
90029 has always been an odd one out..
As built as 90029 in Mainline it ended up in Freight mostly from 1988-1992, despite having the passenger fittings / rubbing plate.Yet after becoming a 90/1 in DB livery and having its rubbing plates removed Its moved upto being a long term passenger service hire-in for much of its life, firstly to VT upto 2003, renumbered back to 90/0 and EWS livery, then the Pretendolino and then on the Sleeper.
In 2012 it was the first one in (Official UK) DB livery and moved to the ECML until very recently, 2019.its now in Grand Central currently.. another odd ball livery.
Colourful history, literally.
90036 was the first in DB Schenker ... 90029 followed .... then 90018 ... then 90040 ...

Thank you @Squirrel Rail for your fine craftsmanship with Bumblebee1 .. (90026 in DB Cargo ex-Grand Central)
