    Hi Covkid,

     

    In the DJM thread you asked whether we had "managed to sell the last few Pendolinos."

     

    For clarity, we only produce models to order - all the Pendolinos made were sold before production.

     

    However, Rapido chose to produce some additional models in a different livery (grey doors, rather than stripy doors) and these sold out within 48 hours of being put on sale.

      Ah I see.

      Apologies for the misunderstanding. Not being an N modeller I admit to not being up to speed, but I vaguely remember the N pendolino not quite getting to it's total sales break even point, but was going ahead anyway.

    I'm watching those involved with the shop opposite strip the last of the fixtures and fittings before final closure. A fancy Italian clothes shop around here was probably doomed before it even opened, but that doesnt make me any less sad for those involved, particularly not the young woman whose business it was.

      Do you actually mean they have bought sixteen lots of class 56 shaped bits. Some might be battered into life, a few might be reengined, but some are destined to donate parts.

       

      I imagine the real type 5s they have had from Colas are going to be more useful !!!
