The Model Rail prototype photo in the post above of the Adams T3 was taken in Toronto at the former CPR John Street roundhouse from the visit in 2011 for a production of The Railway Children.
And of course Rapido world headquarters is just north of Toronto in Markham for those who like conspiracies.

My track plan is largely the same but I’ve added a kickback siding to a small warehouse to park a boxcar in front of to make shunting a little more interesting much to the chagrin of a Canadian friend in BC who insists the freight siding be the same side as the station!
While that would generally be the case, there are exceptions.
Example - Brampton Ontario CPR station where the freight shed was on the opposite side of the tracks from the passenger station.

RMweb member Trevor Marshall @tpm1ca introduces his latest project in this issue, he wrote a blog post about the article - https://themodelrailwaydotshow.wordpress.com/2023/03/15/the-car-barn-in-eight-pages/
April 2023
- Generations at Cass, West Virginia — In the heart of West Virginia, the whistles of geared steam still echo through Cass.
- Mill Gap on the C&O Ryder Sub — A creative mixing of elements supports a fun and detailed HO switching layout based on Cass.
- Prototype Modeling Cass, W.Va. — Scratchbuilding Cass’ unique structures was part of the appeal of this diorama.
- Cass Comparison — Two approaches to modeling the same locale, decades apart, in HO scale.
- Haussler’s Covers of the 1940s — William E.C. Haussler’s creative portraits graced our covers in the early 1940s.
- Planning Niagara Traction in S by Trevor Marshall — Recreating the electrified Niagara, St. Catharines & Toronto in S scale.
- Model Illinois Central 40-ft. Boxcars — Modeling 40 years of variations on IC boxcars using HO scale kits from InterMountain Railway.
- Animate a Train Order Semaphore — Using easily sourced materials to make your semaphore move just like the real thing.

Scotrail's numbers are roughly comparable to Southeastern and South Western.
If much of Scotrail's numbers are from Glasgow/Edinburgh commuting then maybe they are as out of line as it would appear given they have similar numbers to the former NSE area operations.

Whilst Rapido have adopted a professional approach and quickly identifying a viable fix to the issue , the response to provide an update on the situation, and providing notification when the planned resolution completed so affected owners can enjoy this wonderful model was been a bit delayed .
They did provide an update just under a month ago in their February 24th newsletter

Presumably this is following the structural tests on VIA's 'heritage' (1950s Budd) stainless steel cars which required a 'buffer' (empty) car as a 'crumple zone' in the event of a collision,
My understanding is that the structural tests haven't yet been completed and/or the results made known yet (the buffer cars were a precaution until the structural tests could be done) and there are comments that the tests results aren't doom and gloom.
I have also read in the past that the Renaissance cars will end-of-life prior to the Budd cars unless something really bad turns up in the Budd car tests.
As far as I'm aware the Canadian Government has provided no funding (promise or otherwise) to VIA to replace the long distance fleets (Amtrak apparently does have at least some funding for their program) though the upcoming federal budget may change this.
To me this sounds more like a "hey, your designing new trains for Amtrak, this is what we need and so maybe our needs can be incorporated into the designs you do for Amtrak" situation to allow for a future purchase if government funding becomes available to be easier.

Amtrak issued a RFI (Request for Information) in December 2022 for the replacement of their Superliner (I and II), Viewliner (I and II) and Amfleet II long distance fleets.
News reports are that 10 companies submitted proposals and a formal tendering process is expected to be announced later this year.
Following on VIA issued its own RFI in January for the replacement of its long distance fleet, details at https://www.merx.com/viarail/solicitations/Notice-of-Market-Consultation-Long-Distance-Regional-and-Remote/0000240111

Rapido Trains conducts a new drop test, with Hollywood Actor cameo
in USA & Canadian Railroads

Doesn't actually relate directly to that thread.
The video specifically mentions complaints about the bulkhead flat cars (which they use in the video) arriving to customers damaged.
As for Michael Goss it probably makes more sense if your American or Canadian - he was on a hit TV show called Family Ties during the 80s which also launched the career of Michael J. Fox. Michael Goss participates in at least one model railway mailing list.
