  1. After running my engines quite a bit, I decided it was time to get back to work. Started laying down the ballast and basecoat of ground cover. I always panic and worry when I flood it with the diluted glue! Best thing to do, is to walk away and forget about it until tomorrow. Let the proven methods do their thing!
  2. Work has come to a halt...... So I can play with my new engines!!! #2202 U23B #2204 U23B
  3. I love these cams!! I enjoy the horseshoe curve one the most.
  4. Gave the layout a mud bath!!!! Used Lou Sassi ‘s ground goop method, with a mudstone color. Looks very messy right now. I Can’t wait for tomorrow, I’m buying two P&W Engines from my friend Don!! lok sound decoder equipped. He is also letting me borrow his old MRC prodigy dcc system until I get my own NCE system.
  5. Club pics as promised! I was on yard duty today, running Framingham’s yard. There’s nothing like running a 40 foot yard!! The last three pics are of the yard I was running. Switching out auto racks, hfcs tank cars, and assembling outbound trains.
  6. I forgot to take pictures until I was running my last train of the night. Here’s a few!!
  7. OPS NIGHT!!! Heading to my friend Joe's NYC double deck layout. I'll be sure to post up some pics. I'll be at a club operating session this saturday!
  8. I forgot to post a picture of the completed staging Cassette.
  9. So how did Marlborough fair during the storm?! Hopefully everyone in the area is ok, and rail service was not interupted!
  10. Well..... I think it came out pretty good considering it was my first time ever attempting to build a structure of any sort, (kits included!) it will definitely buy time until I can build the real structure. Are use the Proto type for inspiration, but stuck to my original plan of freelancing the industry. There are two car spots outside, and one car spot inside, for gondolas or bulkhead flat cars.
  11. Thanks for the kind words!! Today's mission is to build a mock up of the main industry using foam core board. I've never attempted this before, but i will share a photo of the result!
  12. Staging cassette built and attached. I will be giving it a coat of black paint tomorrow. Looks pretty ugly. Ignore the mess to the left LOL !!!!
  13. Making some scenery progress today. Used the jigsaw to cut a few below track profiles. Getting ready to make the staging cassette. Ignoring my temptation to build phase two bench work.
  14. I chose to not work on the layout this weekend. I spent the time with my wife instead! I can work on it all week this week, but I can only see my wife for a few hours during the weekdays with work and all. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
  15. Looks great! I like the setting on the 2nd photo, the loco and scenery compliment each other very well!
  16. With the trackwork complete and painted I put up the lower facia, and then painted everything black including the legs. The picture doesn’t give it any justice. It pretty much came out exactly how I was hoping it would
  17. HAHA!!!! So true! That's model railroading for you!! Yeah life happens! I understand it's a marathon, not a sprint! I have to keep myself in check sometimes, I don't want to get burnt out and get sloppy.
  18. Finished this morning. Hooked up the power pack, and nothing happened LOL ! Tried a different that was the problem, it was not. I had a short somewhere and no idea how and where it was. I purposely wired all the positive feeders first, then the negatives to avoid that problem. So I decided to disconnect all the wires on the power pack, and then connect them one by one until I found the problem. Never found the problem, but works great now! Painted the track, and cleaned it, and ran engine back in for work, so far so good!
  19. Looks great! I'll be following along with your build!!
  20. For operations, Do you use car cards/waybills? Or a switchlist?
  21. Very true! Progress is evident in almost every photo, and I feel a sense of accomplishment every time I work on it!
