  1. I honestly can't see any reason why it wouldn't be feasible, even if not exactly an ideal method.
  2. Seconded. That or a Corriedale, but they tend to be a bit "fluffier".
  3. Actually yeah, let's follow this up with some of the weird and wonderful items gostude has at the time of writing: The illicit lovechild of a Nellie and a Jinty - - and its apparent paternal half-sibling, this little industrial that needs a bit of TLC and its smokebox reseating, Tram-Pug, Tram-Pug's big brother, someone Colonel Stephens has put out Missing posters for, and Good Lord, you again?
  4. That is indeed a Single Fairlie by the looks. It also seems to be made of Meccano. Also been genuinely tempted to do a Where Are They Now for all the models that have been featured on this thread and are now in the possession of people on here. Could be quite fun. Anyway, after a long period of absence, I think it's time for some of what I found on the web. Pictures are linked as per usual for me. We begin with a Nissen hut. Will admit I almost wrote Nissan. Our old friend clairegilmore75 is back as well with another beautiful handmade building. Been a while since we talked about one of her creations. This O-gauge shunter is an interesting beast, and not just because of the somewhat amusing number. Looks like a cross between a rooftop air conditioning pump and one of those self-propelled snowploughs. ...conspiracy theorists need not apply. Or James May for that matter. An entire T-gauge oval layout in a suitcase. That's new for this thread. Very nicely done as well. I scrolled past it at first then had to basically do a double-take as I really wasn't expecting to see this. I don't do T-gauge and it's a bit alpine for my taste anyway but still nicely done. Something cute to finish off with. Another product of the infamous gostude, this little 0-4-2ST can't seem to decide in its description if it's in TT or 009 gauge. It's clearly a Pugbash and I do actually quite like the livery, though I don't know why it seems to have a corncob instead of a safety valve. I can definitely see one of you guys doing something with this little thing. Gostude actually has a few interesting Pugbashes on his eBay page at the moment. I'd have put more up if I wasn't running out of image upload space.
  5. Grew up on a farm, can confirm. Even amongst the same breed size can vary quite significantly.
  6. (Just catching up) And here I thought Achingham was based on Bressingham.
  7. Dang nabbit! I actually was one of the other bidders! At least I know who has it so I can take some comfort in knowing it'll be taken care of. It saddens me to see one of these in such a state. My own KLR's No.14 is one of these beauties (the two-rail version) and it is probably my favourite diesel in my collection. I'd not even call that that bad if it wasn't for the thickness of the paint and the oversized and badly added number. It's a Percy! *ahem* What I mean is it appears to be a slightly modified Larko Dockside shunter kit to me, judging from that distinctive high-set oval tank. Pretty rare these days. I mentioned Percy as the original model of him by the Rev is bashed from the same kit. This thread is generally intended for kitbashes and customised engines found in the wild (aka. not made by the poster.) My pedantry aside, that is a very smart little 0-6-0T. Chimney is a bit tall for my liking personally, but that's just me. I'd also drop down the filler caps so the bottom of the lid is flush with the tank top, it'll help it look more realistic, Good work regardless, keep it up. The BoB looks phenomenal in blue, almost makes me wonder why it was never put in that livery IRL. That Molly... not so much. I can't even tell what's going on with the face, though the paint on the main body itself could be worse.
  8. Quite smart actually. Looks almost like something I'd create. Nice to see some things never change. I've seen worse. At least it's not as low-effort as some we've had on here. That is gorgeous and genuinely tempting. I do love me my weird one-off locos.
  9. In which case here are some of my more recent creations.
  10. You can blame my personal lack of motivation, and being very much engrossed in a totally forum-irrelevant project. That BTP is beautiful though. Might have to snap that up!
  11. I do agree with you there. This is why I don't play in actual Games Workshop stores and instead play as part of a small casual wargaming club. Also pretty sure I've showcased some of my heavily kitbashed Space Marines on here before at some point.
  12. Oh yes, well tuned pipes can sound absolutely fantastic when played by someone who actually knows what they're doing.
  13. Funny, I'm neither. Guess I'm the exception to the rule? As a fan of Warhammer 40k myself, I kind of take exception to that. I'd have hoped you knew me better than that by now.
  14. Nice to see you doing better, James. I myself have been suffering from a severe lack of railway modelling motivation of late (hence my own prolonged absence from these forums) so I can empathise. I can also relate to having a large pile of unfinished wargaming projects. I still have a huge box of unmade 40k Space Marines. The issue there always is finding something to make that I'd actually use in game.
  15. Looks great, John. Nice to see the continued evolution of this little loco.
  16. Compared to the amount of it their neighbour under my purview uses, it's pretty subdued.
  17. To be fair this is what I generally recommend people do anyway. And yes, this does have a lot of charm. I've got half a mind to put money down on it myself!
  18. From my point of view, they don't really classify as either tender or tank engines, but more animals entirely unto their own.
  19. Interesting. Thanks for this, it's rare that someone gets back to us with continuation to the story of one of the locos we show on here, let alone it being someone I already know on here. Look forwards to seeing it possibly running again, and I agree, I hope the modeller is still with us as this is fantastic and this hobby can always use more creatively-minded modellers.
  20. Clever as always Tom. Might have to make one for the KLR's permanent way train.
