  1. Still being fairly new to RM I'm not sure how to add a further comment/query to my own topic but here goes - can anyone recommend a cheap stable 12v DC power source for the Blocksignalling SS1 shuttle as it seems not to be working properly with the accessories output of my Marklin controller? Thanks for any suggestions
  2. Can anyone tell me please where the pickups are located (which wheels) on this 2003 build 370-225 set MN loco and whether this model would have had traction tyres fitted? Many thanks for any help.
  3. Thanks. I came across a similar German document after I posted. I don't suppose you know the actual (electrical) output details of the accessories feed?
  4. I'm trying to get some info in advance of my new Marklin 67013 controller arriving. The product leaflet is not very detailed and I am trying to confirm the outputs - there appear to be 4 colour coded output ports/sockets and I'd be grateful if any member could identify their nature and function for me.
  5. Thanks for the clarification. It does seem the latest SSI with diodes included will be the easiest solution to my requirement.
  6. I'm considering setting up train auto-reversal on a stand alone track stretch (N scale). I thought about using Simple Shuttle with a reed switch - but which one? I am not sure whether it needs a Normally Open or a Normally Closed type of reed switch? Any specific recommendations will be really welcome.
  7. The Bachmann website says of its latest Farish steam dcc locos with sound fitted eg 372-065SF Fowler tender: 'Analogue Users: Normal-load running sounds, acceleration steam chuff sounds and any other automatic and randomised sounds can be enjoyed when using this model on analogue control (DC) straight from the box!" Is this actually the case and is it as easy as just 'taking it out of the box'?
  8. Apols if this query is in the wrong section (I am new to the RM website) but I would like to fit Train Tech lighting into my Dapol B Set coaches and seek advice on how to remove the roof from the body or the body from the chassis (whichever is appropriate) to enable this. Thanks for any guidance.
  9. Can any kind member advise on the above? I can manage the wheels but how to access the motor? The Hornby 'service sheet' just shows an exploded diagram of the car and a list of spares but no guidance on how where and when to lubricate. I guess it's self evident to most but not to this newcomer to modelling!
  10. Can any member help with sourcing a repairer/model shop willing to modify Kato 4 turnouts to prevent the derailing I'm experiencing? There are online videos which show how to do the modifications (notch filing etc) to correct the problem but as a novice modeller it's beyond my skills at the moment and I'm willing to pay to have these alterations made - if I can find an appropriate repairer!
  11. I'd be grateful for any advice regarding the problem I have with my 3 month old Dapol 2S-007-027 Pannier. When first bought it was a very erratic runner with stuttering and frequent stops. I read that weighting the loco might help so I added some lead and the problem went - but has recently returned for no obvious reason I can determine. Once again it is frequently stuttering and periodically stopping despite cleaning wheels and track and It is appropriately oiled. The problem occurs when going forward and in reverse on my Kato Unitrack. Help please to this novice modeller!
  12. Thanks. I can't see any obvious distortions. The loco just comes to a stop and if I increase the power the motor whines but the loco doesn't move, even when I push it gently. However if I switch it to reverse it immediately runs off smoothly and continues running backwards uneventfully. Any further thoughts?
  13. I would be very grateful for any advice concerning running problems with my nearly new Farish 372-935 SE&CR N Class loco. Suddenly while it still runs in reverse smoothly, when running forward it stutters often and stops frequently. This happens on any part of the track (Kato Unitrack) whether straight or curved. I have cleaned the wheels but have no other technical knowledge (or skill) to work with! Thanks for any suggestions.
  14. Hoping this is the right forum - I would be very grateful for any advice concerning running problems with my nearly new Farish 372-935 SE&CR N Class loco. I have cleaned the wheels but have no other technical knowledge (or skill) to work with! Thanks for any suggestions. ps. just found the correct (Farish) forum where I have left the same query - apols for the above but I am new to the RMweb.
