  1. Hi All, I wonder if I might ask if someone with a table saw is able to help me please. I am looking to get about 15 to 20 lengths each of 4mm and 9mm cut 6.5mm wide by 600mm long. Obviously will pay for material, service and postage. The smallest sheets that seem to be available are 4'x4', so any excess can be either binned or the person helping can keep it if of use. Many thanks Wayne (West Wales)

  4. Hi All, does anyone have any lima metal wheel sets that they dont need please. I bought a number of chassis that I am using for my Sn3.5 rolling stock and need to wheel them to match the few sets i have. Looking for 11.45mm solid back and 12.6mm 3 hole type (which may not be Lima?) please Many thanks Wayne

  7. Hi All, I am after some etched hinges something like those in the photo below, do not have to be exact, looking for a UK source please. Need to be about 6mm long Thanks Wayne Wagon, EOZ-1 Explosives Byo Railway Museum - source unknown (6) by Wayne, on Flickr
  8. Brilliant thanks, I hope it works better than the MEK I bought, which seems a bit week compared to EMA plastic weld, so much so that I bought another EMA. I wil llook out for your stuff when I need again, many thanks Wayne

  10. Indeed, having stripped and cleaned the cogs, etc it is running fine with the green stuff on it. Not too smooth and struggles in slow speed but useable for now - Thanks
  11. Thanks mossdp, the cogs are OK but I think I may have found the problem, the armature is quite corroded as below - I will see if I can get a look at a Bachmann model, as you say I will either have to shorten the drive shafts or just power one bogie as I have cut about 40mm out of the chassis. 12. Hi All, I wonder if anyone can help me please. Is it possible to replace the motor and cogs in the bogie shown below? I think it is a Jouef or Lima Class 40 - I only have part of the chassis as I cut that down to make my Sn42 Loco and the bit I cut out was probably the part with the makers name. The motor does not run well at all, when I can even get it to run. I am going to look at stripping it and cleaning then putting on some graphite dust which may help? I would be nicer though if i could get a new motor or cogs. Thanks Wayne IMG_20200316_190859 by Wayne, on Flickr IMG_20200316_190904 by Wayne, on Flickr
  13. Hi Irish Padre Did you ever get around to testing this product please, cheers Wayne
  14. So a bit if a change to the layout, I wanted to get the curve into the station as per the prototype, with access from the hidden staging, so I put the station at an angle to the main layout instead of parallel to it as before. This also allows me to insert a line behind to the Power Station, where I can show part of a cooling tower, the towers at Bulawayo are quite prominent when looking across to the station building from the south (this is the direction visitors will view the layout) - The layout is not quite as at Bulawayo but this is a 'based upon' layout so I am not too worried about that. The signal box for instance should be on the end of platform 2 but I only have room for platform 1, so it has moved place quite a bit Wayne Sn42 new layout 2020 March by Wayne, on Flickr
  15. Thanks Steverabone, yes the roof is 3D printed, as are the main parts of the sides and ends. They were for a carriage but I got the dimensions wrong so re-purposed them for the enginemens coach. Wayne IMG_20200208_195304 by Wayne, on Flickr

  18. nice thread, I will be watching this one as I am building some S Scale wagons and carriages for my Rhodesia Railways layout (well I hope one day to have a layout!) - Wayne IMG_20200203_203636 by Wayne, on Flickr IMG_20200204_215901 by Wayne, on Flickr Sn42 DOY1 steel dropside (1) by Wayne, on Flickr
  19. Hi All, I am working in S Scale, running on HO/OO track. I am wanting to make a hand car (pump truck) - I wonder if the HO/OO guys could give me an idea what very small motorised units are available in that scale please, they would need to have quite small wheels too. The whole hand car would only be about 35cm long - Perhaps I will need to look to the guys who make working HO/OO vehicles for some ideas too? Thanks Wayne
  20. Looks good, nice one - Are you able to suggest which chassis would work best with each body please? This would help those like me who are new to 009. Cheers Wayne
