I weathered this Oxford Die-cast Baler Machine to give a faded, chipped, rusty effect, but it is still supposed to be in use. In a summer meadow with the barn in the distance Raised viewpoint Front on view - sitting in the long grass. Rear view showing the chipped, muddy paint around the bottom of the machine. -
I've built one recently and I didn't get any either. I also found the instructions very confusing....

Model Rail USA Tank Loco
EWS60065 replied to SteveyDee68's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I don't have one myself but I do also have a small radius 1 section on my railway. I would have thought they would be OK on 1st radius, I've seen several videos of them on tight radius curves, and with the wheelbase being very short, you could probably get away with it. It may mean that you won't be able to fit some of the extra details like steps and pipes etc., but it'll probably be OK. I don't think it's a question of whether it'll get round, just how well it'll do it. -

Some more from me - this time, night-time shots. A Bulleid pacific simmers in the station with the final train of the day. E4 Class 2517 silhouetted in front of the yard security light, on a cold starry night. -
Tunnel Portals for Double Track (Curved)

I had the same problem as you and had to bodge a metcalfe tunnel entrance (widened it by cannibalising another one) -

Love the wet oily floor on this, not so sure on the type of engine... -

I don't think I want to go anywhere near hafix industrial superglue! -

Oh I know the Coach would have been fine for the later dates, just not 1890! Also I don't think the warship could have been seen in 1936. But yes it is in red, so possible for 1958 -
MAINLINE MOGUL/MANOR AXLE PROBLEMS
EWS60065 replied to MANTY1's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I have had the same issue with my manor. It was out of service for two years, but then I got some replacement middle axle sleeve things from Peters spares, fitted them carefully, requartered the wheels, applied some superglue, then it was all fine. When you do this, just ensure the wheels are pushed as close together as possible or you'll be spending years scraping superglue off metal when you try to re align them. -

Some interesting ones of mine. Don't worry, the background is edited in, I'm not that good! 2019 1958 1936 1894 Firstly, I know the backgrounds are different in each photo, I just was playing around. Secondly, the bus (and the sneaky Warship lurking in the bottom left) are obviously not prototypical for all the dates! Again, it's just an experiment. -

A few of my layout. Not the best but I'm sure they're not the worst either. Firstly, a GWR 2-8-0 prepares to depart Ashcombe, with the driver at the ready on the whistle. A peaceful afternoon by a small foot crossing. Cattle in the lineside fields settle down for the night in the long summer grass. A night time shot of the evening dining service ready to depart. Another black and white photograph, this time we see a Parkside Beetle prize cattle van. And finally, my attempt at an ivy covered telegraph pole. It still needs some improvement but looks OK. I must say, some of the other photos here on this forum are absolutely amazing! -
Love this project, been there a few times myself.

Here's a quick attempt at weathering a Hornby shark. I've just used weathering powders and homemade washes. It was easier than it looks.

Bachmann are actually doing the 57xx and 87xx at the moment for pre order. https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/product-category/Bachmann-branchline/locomotives/?product-page=2 Look at the bottom of this page and the top of the next.

I belive Bachmann are doing the 57xx and 8750 at the moment, in some new liveries and some old ones. Check website, pre order only at the moment. I have both 57xx and 8750 examples and they both run well at slow speeds, and are very smooth considering the fairly short wheel base. Both models are with new chassis, 8750 was bought new for £59, 57xx second hand for £55. I'm looking for a new chassis for an old mainline pannier that the split chassis failed on, but can't find any anywhere.

Thanks a lot, be sure to have a go with Plasticard rolling stock, it's easier than it looks, just get a ratio chassis kit and build your own body on top, it's quite satisfying. With the austerity I've weathered her now. Used some powders and washed to create a light oily weathering and rain streaked affect.
-
Interested to see weathering on this. With that hunslet austerity I showed you, I've added some stripes, as of Cardiff East Moors Steelworks. The shunter is made from plasticard.
-
All looks very good, I wish I could do that.

For anyone wanting the gas cylinders for under the restaurant cars, there is one available from shapeways which will be 3d printed and sent to you if ordered. https://www.shapeways.com/product/TXL8QCKW9/gwr-gas-cylinders?optionId=16626713&li=more-from-shop They also do a few other items for them such as roof vents and bogies.
