  1. Hi - I’ve not posted before - sorry if this is the wrong place. I have three of the new Farish 158s with sound fitted. One (East Midlands livery) works perfectly. The other two (the Northern ones) do not. One worked while running in, one never worked. They both now have the same problem. When I put them on the track, the lights and sounds work fine (e.g. F3 plays the horn, so the chip is doing something). However, they do not respond at all (movement or sound) when I increase speed on the handheld controller. The East Midlands one works fine on the same place on the same track as do other trains. I have a Lenz LZV100 with LH90 handset. I have tried them on a test track where only that is connected to the LZV100 but had the same problem. When I put them on the programming track, and e.g. try to read the address, I get an Error 2 (no information read from the chip) then an error 98 (invalid command sent to the control station), which also puts the LZV100 into standby. So I don't think I can send a factory reset to it. I took them back to the model shop. They don’t have a track in the shop but he took them away and said they were working OK with his (not Lenz) setup. I don't have a working DC controller, but I suppose I could buy one if that might help diagnose the issue. Any thoughts about what I could try next? Thanks
  2. Hi, Pendolinos arrived and are looking good. I'm new to sound. I haven't tried to run them yet, as it seems my transformer is producing too high a voltage. It is a Lenz TR100, which claims to output 15V, but I measured it with a multimeter to be 16.8V. I read that more than 15V 'may well blow the sound decoder'. Does anyone have it working with the same transformer? Do I need to buy a new transformer? If so, can anyone recommend one? Or have I misunderstood something? Thanks
