It does, thank you. I'm building a freelance 0-16.5 loco and 4mm scale items look too small, but 7mm look way too big.
I was wondering if there was any consensus on what should be used.

Hi all,
This is a really daft question, but one I genuinely do not know the answer to.
If modelling in 7mm NG (0-16.5), would loco fittings like buffers, whistles etc need to be O or OO gauge?
-
Fascinating models! Being local, I have real interest in anything Amlwch railway related.
-
I don't know why, but I'm really tempted by one of these!

I've just sold one of these airbrushes, ironically it needed a new nozzle too. I'd recommend getting a Sparmax one to fit.

Bit more unusual this time - Japan's WW2 version of the Me262 - the Kikka. Only made one flight I believe.

I did wonder! Is the walkway at the top also replaced, or is that the original kit?
No, that's the original kit part. The only other replacement parts are the buffers - also from Wizard Models.

Daft question - that's not the supplied ladder, is it?

Hi Steve, no it isn't - I replaced the supplied ladder with an etched one from Wizard Models.

Who's transfers have you used for the Dapol tank wagons ?
Cheers
Please excuse me for missing your comment, I haven't logged in for a while.
The transfers are all from Railtec.

Just a quick photo of a Dapol 20t tanker. Hoping to do some more of these at some point.

Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd do a quick update with progress with my 24.5t mineral wagon.
The "rusting" has been done. The effect of the replated panels is just paint. I feel that adding a panel to the wagon side looks overs ale, regardless of what you use.
I've also found a second salvageable wagon, built and painted several years ago. Not going to bother stripping the paint on this one, I'm just going to add to it.

Great! Pre-ordered!

Bit of painting tonight, more of an undercoat than anything else...

Before I get the paints out, I thought I'd add this to the pile.
It's a Parkside 24.5t mineral wagon which was built a good few years ago and badly painted. After stripping the paint, replacing the damaged bufferbeams and adding new buffers it's good to go.
The open door - bit of a gimmick maybe, but it serves a purpose - this door was damaged after being in storage.

Thank you for both for the comments!
The Provender continues to progress, albeit slowly. A scratchbuilt door has been added, although not very visible here.
I've also built this MDV from the Five79 kit. Really nice model to build.
Although the instructions made it really clear, I still managed to assemble the brake gear the wrong way around...whoops!

Still plodding on with the Provender store. Doesn't look much different to the last photo I posted but I've actually done a fair bit of work since then - a lot of it internally to strengthen it up. Externally, the main change is the addition of gutters and downpipes using a combination of Modelu parts and plastic rod.
Doors are under construction at the moment...

I've ordered from them and found the service to be really good.

I've found the key is to insert my own "floor" and not rely on the diagonal bits supplied by Ratio!

Hope you're enjoying the build, I struggled to complete mine without taking a razor saw to the blighter. If you need any bits I have some odds and sods left over from an attempted low relief build.
Thanks Bazzer, so far I am enjoying the build! And thanks for the offer, hopefully I'm OK for bits.
To better illustrate my previous post, here's a (rather poor) photo of a mock up of my intended brick solution.

I've actually solved my earlier dilemma by moving the right hand leg inwards by 1 panel. Not strictly prototypical but it improves the balance of the building. The gap to the right of the leg will be infilled with brick.
Here's a posed shot on the layout which gives a feel for how it could look...

Hi all,
I've started thinking about the building that will occupy the right hand side of the layout. My original intention was to have a brick-built warehouse type building.
Having laid the track, I now don't have enough space to do this justice so thoughts have switched to alternatives.
I've recently bought a Ratio Provender Store kit from eBay and this will form half of the structure.
I've made a rookie mistake by planning the size based on the space available and forgetting that these buildings were prefabricated panels. As a result, my building is one panel short.
I'm sure you're thinking "add an extra panel in" but I can't without damaging what I've already built.
It's not a big deal in the scheme of things, but I'm wondering if this would ever have happened in reality?

Just to echo the other comments - excellent idea and presentation!

Rather than producing RTR, I wish someone would make plastic loco kits with the moulding and fit standard manufacturers like Eduard and Tamiya manage for their military models.
