I would like to enter something along the lines of a working level crossing...
Agreed, a refresher on what size a coke box actually is, would be useful.
Kev.
Hi Kev as far as I know the model must fit in a standard 8 by 8 by 6 inch cake box with at least two railway items.

Is a specific theme really needed - or would it just cramp some people's style?
Some of us are struggling to rediscover our modelmaking mojo (whatever that was).
Personally, I'd prefer the whole thing left open-ended - just a couple of railway related items (eg wagon + track) - and allow us to come up with our own ideas, please. That sort of thing would suit me just fine - and I doubt if I'd be alone in this regard.
Huw.
Hi Huw I agree. A couple of railway items and an open competition sounds great.
I know mentioned a theme as other cakebox challengers have had one.

I absolutely love the scrap yard area of this layout, life like and very realistic.

I agree the Peckett is a lovely looking loco and is one I hope to purchase very soon. I like your idea of a small photo plank and the design of your layout.
I will be watching with great interest.

Nice work on the mechanism. It will be great to see a little video of the crane operating.

This might sound like a silly question so here goes. I’m have a change of direction regarding my railway modelling.
Are there any members on the forum solely concentrate on wagon kit building. -
Looking forward to watching this progress.

Hi Sam, I have a spare kit if anybody is interested. I am not likely to build this anytime soon so it's a shame just to leave on the shelf. PM if anybody would like it.

Hi Mike this is a nice gesture, it’s great to see members helping one another.
