  1. I too have built the 9F. We'll almost. I has major issues with the coupling rods and sprung axles and resorted to a servo milled rods and fixed driving axles. Problems solved. This has taken me something like 20 years off and on so far. Work and children seem to take up a lot of time. Brian's photos have inspired me to finish it off. All thst is left is pickups, fit the RG7 and valve gear. Loco body and tender all in plain black so far. I also have an unbuilt parallel boiler Royal Scotland by MMP as well. At the time they were excellent lots but as with many not always easy to assemble.
  2. I built one of these kits but didn't complete it ... yet. I too had coupling rod issues and ended up getting a set of milled rods and removing the springs on the driving axles. It's designed for an RG7 with the gearbox in line with the motor so sits vertically up into the firebox. The tender and body went together well and is all painted in plain black. Seeing Brian's photos has inspired me to finish it off as all it needs us pickups and the valve gear. If I do it will probably have taken something like 20 years to build.
