  1. Well done - now no bargains for anyone. Why is it so difficult to understand: 1. It's your choice and thus your consequence that you don't live in Birmingham or anywhere near it. 2. Some people do live near Birmingham - a selection of those people model trains. Some retailers are based near there too. 3. You can buy reasonable bed space from Airbnb, or in the worst case a hotel, for at most the £30 mark should you want to visit Birmingham for any reason. What's the problem?
  2. The big Oakes sale ended this weekend just past, yet nobody posted or said anything - probably out of fear for what posts would follow. I do hope that Ian Allan bargain posts (and others) don't go the same way because this thread is steadily losing purpose.
  3. Surely it's far more annoying to have to trawl through pages (and pages) of people discussing whether they can get to Birmingham, whether Ian Allan or Mr Oakes posts actually qualify as bargains because, through no fault of either trader, you've chosen to live in the back of beyond, or whether other people agree or like the fact that you've just bought a bargain that other people can't purchase because you've just bought it?
  4. Ok, I see I'm not welcome. We'll just continue to trawl through pages of chit chat and stay stuck in monotony. Why bother to evolve into something better...
  5. I know this is only my second post to this forum (I had a previous username which I've forgotten) so I really don't wish to come across as arrogant. However, the point of this thread is for people to scroll through to find bargains, and it's constantly proving to be more and more of a battle. There are posts debating whether something is a bargain, whether someone has got one and what they think of it, whether someone's just bought a bargain but doesn't actually have one to post... the list goes on. I really enjoy viewing this thread, but as a polite request please can we please just keep it to actual bargains. If you wish to comment on any bargain, or even my post, please can you open a new thread with the item title and do it there so that others can contribute. Either that, or if we went with a format similar to hotukdeals, where effectively you have a whole section of the forum dedicated to bargains, and you then click posts to view individual bargains so people can comment on them.
  6. For any G Scale modellers out there, Rails have just listed quite a few Newqida items on eBay here . This includes a number of box vans and stake wagons at less than £15, and bogie coaches with four different liveries at less than £30 - including the crimson/cream, blue/cream and green/cream versions. As a side note, I own three of the green coaches already and a box van, and have to say that for the price they are fantastic models.
