  2. Another excellent year at the Great Electric Train Show, highlights from all the layouts below.
  3. Another great show which gets better each year. Part 1 of all the layouts from The Great Electric Train Show 2019.
  4. I do like the modular design evolving here for the baseboards. nice to know it can be taken apart and moved elsewhere quite easily if needed.
  5. Only pinning the track on the non scenic sections, makes it very easy to dig up and replace if ever the track section goes dead or breaks. on the scenic sections where I will ballast as well going to look at gluing the concrete sleepers down so don’t have the shiny black pins showing through the concrete sleepers. reason for concrete sleepers is firstly a modern image layout so will look great alongside scenery for Trent Valley section representation of the WCML, and then to distinguish between the running lines and the sidings in the fiddle yard so I have a continuous run (loops) around without going through the sidings. Did my research and found a retailer which had the full box of peco tracks that were the same for concrete or wooden sleepers at bulk price.
  6. Progress made on the start of the inclines for cork underlay and the track.
  7. Sure do have many similarities and following your layout build topic with interest too, particularly how tidy the cabling is under the Burton layout.
  8. Following this topic with similarities to the layout build in progress for the Trent Valley Railway. Tried to read off the diagrams the level distance between lower level and the top level being around 35cm? Would be grateful if you could direct me to previous posts I may have missed on this subject. thanks Matt

  17. Parts 4 and 5 of all the layouts from the event below. Great show and Enjoy.
  18. I will get back to my own layout over the summer now, but the last exhibition event before Autumn that i had planned to attend was the Great Central Railway Model Event 2019. An event on such a large scale that could easily challenge Warley for the biggest and best model event of the year. Will definitely be returning next year hoping for much better weather! For those unable to attend or didn't get a chance to look round everything, highlights of the layouts in part 1, part 2 and part 3 are below. Enjoy.
  19. An event on such a large scale that could easily challenge Warley for the biggest and best model event of the year. Not too busy nor not too quiet on the Friday when i spent the day there and great value ticket that also gives you good access along the length of the GCR. Plenty to see and do in one day and just about managed to get around it all and visit Loughborough station for some time. Found the GCR and model event staff in the marquees very welcoming and it was just a shame about the rain showers in between the small amount of sunshine. Will definitely be returning next year hoping for much better weather! For those unable to attend or didn't get a chance to look round everything, highlights of the layouts in part 1, part 2 and part 3 are below. Enjoy.
  20. Another weekend another exhibition, highlights below... East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 2019 - Part 1 East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 2019 - Part 2 East Anglian Model Railway Exhibition 2019 - Part 3
  21. A great venue for the show, particularly liked that you were able to wait inside , considering it was absolutely chucking it down with rain, before entering the show. very well set up, spacious and easy to get to venue - will be returning next year if it is at the same venue. nice focus on the layouts rather than thousands of traders /sales stands with the highlights from all the layouts captured below.
