  1. Ha - is it late or as I’m currently In Czechia I’ve tripped the timer? Matt
  2. The Midland Pullman and other HST stuff lands? Matt
  3. Word on caution on that one. The paint finish on the set is a little different to the GWR coaches. The HST and coach rather Matt and the coaches sold individually gloss. Still looks ok though. Matt
  4. Hey, I wonder if this might be what you are in the market for, fiddly though! https://www.fox-transfers.co.uk/transfers/intercity-executive-buff-cantrail-lining-63956 Matt
  5. £100 Feeling guilty but I will cherish it. Appears Hornby warehouse fresh too! having my small bowel MRI cancelled with one hour to spare last week and loosing a container load of wages for it I am feeling like getting some replacement transfers for it mind you! “Clever” me however suggests my angst isn’t with the NHS but with the government though, they were the ones that constrained my income to prevent me buying this when it came out - to do so would of been a whole month of lockdown income so….I guess it’s my recompense! A Lovely item from a lovely genuine seller. Matt
  6. Hi all, I was stoked to pick up the old Hornby 90001 which thanks to Fox Transfers I will be plating up as “Royal Scot” for my rendition of the inter-city charter consist currently running up and down the WCML. Despite my jubilation on picking up such a clean and tidy version….to my horror I find one end is missing light details and the “grille” ! Does anyone know where I can find these little yet everso important bits? Many thanks Matt
  7. That’s only because up in them regions they have an annual festival dedicating using hockey sticks to fluck the cow turd off said green and pastured lands to create such beautiful scapes, trust me it’s a thing, it’s brilliant! Said Lurid grass is actually a fairly accurate depiction of landscape. I guess back here at home, waiting for the slightest rain “storm” and pumping it into the sea is a more efficient and profitable exercise. Must try to get to Swiss Miniatur - looks great - have to say though the Swiss are AWFUL drivers! Matt
  8. certainly looks a little like Jungfraubahn but cable cars could be anywhere, Schilthorn perhaps? Have to say I miss my multiple visits to Lauterbrunnen every summer season deeply. BREXVID 1619 really did a whopper on all that for me. Matt
  9. There’s water in the river! I was going to mention the bird but can’t zoom in enough to confirm whether I can spot a tit or not. Matt
  10. No, it’s just the shell, you may be able to additionally buy the interior though.
  11. ….or clever. I’m not sure - I’ve been after a 00 Bachmann Scotrail DBSO for ages but can’t & wont pay up to the £200 asking price on good old eBay for one. I managed to get a body shell for £23 on the Bachmann spares site and have grafted the shell on to an old Hornby blue & grey chassis after some tactical snipping on the chassis. Obviously I don’t have the lighting functions (I run DC anyway) - I could of course fit some wheel springs and a couple of red LEDS and should probably find some seats/interior for it, maybe loose the coupling and detail the buffer beam also. Have I just pulled off a great feat of modelling ingenuity or committed an unforgivable offence? In any case it’s a Bachmannstein DBSO for less than £30 in my mind! Matt
  12. Hi everyone, Hopefully right place to post but I'm looking for recommendations for someone to do a respray for me, namely a class 43 HST unit into the Purple EMR livery. I asked myself "how hard can it be?" very - as it goes. I've had a go but I'm never going to get that pro look. As you can see..... the swear jar is full, and some. I wonder what sort of cost this work would attract too? Thanks in advance. Matt

    EBay madness

    1 car class 170? I’m confused https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-Branchline-32-450-Class-170-1-Turbostar-1-car-DMU-in-Midlad-Main-livery-/314076048731?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  14. Thanks all, happy to report, the APT is back in action after a rewire and a CAN (CD Rom) motor upgrade. Needed some nice fresh traction tyres mind you.......perhaps next is to LED the headlights and maybe stick some red LED tail lights in. Excuse the messy track! Matt
  15. Would explain the blip on power when it tilts and makes the contact! And the nudge separating the brush holder from the metal bogie temporarily 😂🤪. I’ll report the results when I have those brush holders fully insulated! Thanks again - would still like to put a nice CAN motor in her though.
  16. Bingo! Thanks, using the service sheet I just saw a piece that is missing from my motor bogie - the insulator between the silver bits on the back of the motor and the metal boogie frame. That could well explain the hesitant running I’ve got at the moment. Still keen to hear from anyone that has completed a CAN motor upgrade as I feel the need. The need for speed! Matt
  17. 🖖👌🤘🖐️🖐️ "I'm new here" Hi, been lurking and reading RMWeb for a while, just wondered whether anyone could help me with the concept of putting a new motor (for DC) running in an original Hornby APT. I'm assuming it's been done before with CAN motors etc but wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction of a suitable kit, 3D print bracket? Got myself a bit of a good looking dud so would like to take the opportunity to get it running with gusto. No, I don't have £585 for a new one either 🤣! Thanks in advance Matt
