Most Dapol things I buy end up getting resold (class 73, turbots etc). Some of it is great though, very hit and miss 🙃

    “We shall see” 🙂

Of my 6 Dapol 73's only one was bought brand new and even then was at a heavy discount... Given most have been repainted/modified I'm happy I did not have to pay full whack for them. Hopefully can acquire a few 59's in a similar manner further down the road

And of those 73's only 1 had 'running issues' which was a bent pickup, easily sorted. Lets not go into PCB issues etc on this thread

Has there been any inidcation whether the blue colour on the National Power version will be corrected for the actual production?

Have to wait and see if Dapol flew in a few ahead of the main batch for magazine reviews etc.......

I have a pair of these to do as well, though haven't made a start yet. Currently pondering the best way to motorise it.

Replica Railways chassis. There was a time a few years ago when Bachmann were selling off reconditioned 350 sets for next to nothing, this would donate everything you need here, even the pantograph

Evening! Yes absolutely. If you could send me an email to steadfastmodels@outlook.com please, we can discuss the details.

Time is limited at the moment as I'm in the middle of a course for work, but I can definitely sort something.

    Cheers

    Jo

Thanks - in no rush at all, so will let you finish your coursework

I've got a pack in the works for the first five wagons Dapol released in the revised livery. There will be a pack for the second five, plus graffiti in due course, all of which will also appear in N.

More pictures and detail on the link below, the pack is £8.50 plus £1.50 UK P&P. I have a small quantity of these on their way to me that should be in stock in a few weeks, please send me a message if you're interested.

Handy for weathered models or repaints. The decals are designed to cover the Dapol printing, but some factory printing is in the wrong place so for ultimate accuracy some removal is needed. All explained in the instructions - there's plenty of prototype photos on the web.

Hi Jo - would you consider 4mm versions of the number panels / plates in 4mm for the original livery??

    Pay attention 007.

They've already said it's not happening.

But people seem to think that saying it and repeating it will change that, along with 'positive thoughts'

Eventually after enough 'No's' it will become a 'Yes'. But Accurascale are not the Government.........

Theres also the ancient art of 'modelling' to be considered. Forbidden tools such as 'the airbrush' and 'decal sheets' for starters..............

That’s a bit rough on any who missed out first time around. Someone who couldn’t get the cash together for a purple monster before it sold out will probably never afford one on eBay😪

It was made VERY clear initially that:

    1. You could secure one with a £30 deposit and pay in instalments

    2. The models were proving popular and could possibly sell out before delivery

    3. Purple Gordo was one of the fastest sellers (and was either first or second to sell out completely) despite some naysayers saying 'who would want a purple Deltic - turns out lots of people did

Just a quick question for Fran. I noticed that Revolution put the sun visor on their model. I know you guys worked together at an early stage in this project. Will you have the sun visor on your model? No problem if not (I’ve ordered three already) but would be a cool little detail.

It draws similar amounts of power to US HO scale locos.
if you want to save a bit of money, turn the lights off.. ;-)

Maybe dont buy as many if you are worried about running costs........ Can you run all 10 at the same time?

Accurascale Class 55 Support Page, If it doesn't load first time refresh the page

    https://www.accurascale.com/pages/support#reamaze#0#/kb/class-55-deltic

There you will find the manual and some of the frequently asked support questions plus answers

Edit to Add, it can take a few moments to load the page, If it doesn't load then hit re load or put your finger on the central grey ' Support ' and drag down ( tablets etc)

You should see a few wavy lines under the Grey ' Support' as it loads in

    HTH

Doesnt matter, people want everything handed to them now, especially when its right under their nose, the link above could be a pop up that needs to be closed before you view the page and people will still look for the info

I just watched a quick video on YouTube from someone called BBC Model Railway Eddie of Gordon Highlander. He turned it upside down and a screw was missing from one of the fuel tanks. His reaction was unreal. He got really angry because it was missing and he asked “who quality controlled this one because they didn’t do a bloody good job of it and when you’re paying 250 notes for a loco you expect the bloody screws to be there!!!” I mean for crying out loud. The body isn’t held on by the screws and the fuel tanks didn’t look like they were rattling around so bit of an over reaction to say the least! Here’s the link if anyone is interested lol.

So why could he not contact Accurascale instead firstly? 'No, get my unnecessary opinion out there first' - the percentage of good vs ones with defects is miniscule

For a first loco model it is a tremendous achievement, but it also demonstrates the balance that needs to be achieved between detail, quality and durability……. Not sure the balance is perfect on this first model, but it is pretty close and I have every confidence that the decent and genuine chaps at Accurascale will take all the feedback on board and fine tune their many future offerings.

Its actually the second, the rather excellent IRM A Class was the first... Also sold out, wonder why. When first revealed the general opinion on the A was 'this bodes well for what is coming soon'

  16. CAD doesn't cost money to modify (unless you confirm it, then go back and start changing things) but even then CAD is cheap, its all still on the screen and tablet. Changing the tooling is very expensive once its been cut as several manufacturers have discovered be it the model is wrong or a fault with the tooling.

Making high quality 3D prints at a 3 figure sum to print is still cheaper than making (or changing) the tooling.

Amazing how I knew that and I'm not a manufacturer, surprised this one doesnt
