Hello, This is my first post on rmweb after deciding to finally take the plunge and start a layout. As you can probably guess, I'm modelling GWR (in N) and plan to include a Dean Goods. My question is, what would be the correct livery for a non war department Dean circa somewhere around 1942/43? I've got a lovely Union Mills model in green with Great Western livery on the way that I'd rather not repaint black, but I'm a bit stumped as to what livery would be most appropriate. I haven't been able to uncover any reference to a Dean sporting the shirtbutton on its tender outside of some RTR models. Would I be better off leaving the Great Western as is, or would that be an anachronism by this point in history? Appreciate any light that could be shed on the matter Cheers!
