  1. Yep I attempted that first. I suspect if you are as familiar with the model as you guys must be you can do that. Me, I'm just an amateur and I couldn't really see what I was trying to do. I just decided I needed to get a better view of exactly what I was fiddling with.
  2. Very useful to have pages numbers ^ in an 89 page thread. Took me 30 minutes to locate this info. on page 59. My experience is similar. Loco stalled in a couple places that no other loco has ever stalled. As soon as I read the stuff about the worm cover popping off I knew that was the issue I had. As the boss sez the solution is easy, but fiddly. Removing all the little plugs and screws to get the circuit board, fans and decoder off needs a bit of careful work. All fixed now and loco running fab. Other issue is my irritation with Rails. As someone else noted I to ordered (inc deposit) in 2022. I am not in the UK and when I got the note about being short supplied and wanting to supply a non sound item professionally upgraded I accepted, but concluded others that ordered after me, but easier to ship to, were getting priority. I don't believe orders were shipped in the order they were received, and I dont like this. After getting this fabulous model I will order at least one 60. But it may not be from Rails.
  3. Back to the actual model. I was going to buy this but the photographs show Hornby has had the smokebox detail, that must (?) have previously been hand fitted now MOULDED on. So they are backdating an old model to pre 2000 (standards). What a silly and deceptive thing to do. I wonder (hohoho) if they made this clear when accumulating orders.
  4. Thank You Mike. I had these on order from a very reliable retailer and was beginning to think that something had gone wrong and I'd missed them. They were dispatched to me today. I have to say while understanding you guys are a small business the fact that Rails and others had stock on December 7th and then some others apparently not are getting them until a month later must create a certain amount of confusion and chaos amongst your retailers and customers.
  5. Have all accounts that ordered received these? Asking for a friend.
  6. What sound decoder and sound file/supplier are you guys using in your Heljan Peaks? Thanks in advance.
  7. My 92167 is slowly circling the layout as I write this. Its smoother and quieter than it was a week ago. Pulling 14 Bachmann 20t tank cars, a 7 plank and a 20t G Van. Did I have to have it? No. Am I enjoying it? Yes. Just wait until my zimo MS 440 gets here (SC, USA) . Reminds me of the Birkenhead 9Fs working through Nottingham Vic to Colwick in the early 60's. Whats the odds I get a Hornby Crosti when they produce it? 100%.
  8. Also currently also running a new 92167. I had a scary start when the motion kept jamming and I needed to run the loco backwards for a few circuits before it would run forward smoothly. However everything seems to be running smoothly now. Regarding speaker connexions on the circuit board. With the dummy plug removed there are 2 small pads marked S1 and S2 next to the speaker 'box' that Hornby gave us. With no wires attached on either side of the board. Any suggestions as to how I can (safely) discover if these are speaker pads?
  9. I have 92167 on the way. A question I thought was going to get asked, and answered........Normally with 21pin circuit boards there are pads to solder speaker wires to. An earlier poster said these didn't appear to be present. Yes? No? Am I going to have to solder wires to teeny tiny pads on a decoder? Richard E.
