  1. I remember seeing 45036 heading a Saltend bound tank train across Newland Avenue bridge sometime early-mid80s.
  2. Thanks Ian - that'll be it. The bridleway passes through Skerne Leys farm
  3. Another dawdle around Driffield. I don't know the name of this crossing (Sunderlandwick maybe) but it's the one south of Skerne Road and takes a public bridleway across the line. A 155 passes on its way from York to Bridlington. Back in the day this service would have been more direct (Pocklington, Market Weighton, Driffield) though nowhere near as frequent as today's service taking the lengthy route via Selby and Hull.
  4. Driffield's new (ish) crossing at Meadow Road is passed by a 170 on a Sheffield- Scarborough service on 12/08/23. The new, narrower, crossing is seen adjacent to its wider predecessor. I assume the old crossing remains to give works vehicle access as the gates are now locked.
  5. The covered footbridge can still be seen at Beverley - though only now as an image on the side of the Hull Trains' units. Here the Amy Johnson set prepares to work back to Hull on the evening of 24/7/23 having just arrived from London.
  6. The unique covered footbridge at Beverley is no more. Photo courtesy of Alan Wolstencroft
  7. Railtour at Beverley today with top n tail GBRf class 50s. It arrived behind 50049 Defiance and the photo shows the other end with the dual identity 50007/50034 Hercules/Furious
  8. Another one of the Summer SO train from Scarbados though by this date (5/7/86) the destination was Leicester. I was travelling on this so this photo was taken from Anlaby Rd flyover by the late Patrick Welsh. Loco on this day was 45129.
