  1. Just got this back from John of YouChoos. This is where I got the decoder from. "Some of the newer (smaller) MS and MN decoders are rated for 21V max. If you can set the Z21 track supply to 16V then that would be perfect." I suppose I can alter the voltage using the Z21 Maintenance App or would you just leave as is? Steve
  2. Thanks guys the Z21 app is saying Supply Voltage around 20.0V and VCC voltage around 18.0V So the voltage on the track is around 18V? Ta!
  3. Hello, I have a black Z21 command station which is powering a small railway test layout TT120. When I use a voltmeter on the tracks I am getting a reading of just around 8.28 AC which seems rather low? Can anyone throw some light on this for me. I am running a TT120 William Whitelaw and Mallard loco on it OK but want to run a TT120 08 shunter with a Zimo MS490N 6 Pin Mini Sound Decoder in it. Only I don't want to damage this decoder in any way. best, Steve this is my test layout
  4. Hi guys just made a quick vid of my progress with my new test layout for you all. A big thank you to everyone. I certainly couldn’t have got this far without your help. Thanks! Steve
  5. Well, I'm not like you Iain mate, I'd rather encourage people and go the extra mile to be of help rather than discourage them and for them to say blow it. I don't deem myself to be in a position to tell others to trawl through a long document that could be made easier to comprehend. Everyone has their own way of learning. I like others, prefer to watch videos and ask on forums. I don’t neglect to look at manuals as well but as I say I learn better as mentioned. There are many good people on forums who have preceded along the same path who are only too eager to help and pass on their wealth of information and vast experience. I hope to be one of them! best, Steve
  6. When I was in sales, I was told what may be clear to you probably isn't to the person you're talking to!
  7. It doesn't matter I've sorted it without
  8. Hi Iain I was told something but it wasn’t clear how to do it I’ve tried clicking on various items to no avail. You have told me to go thru a very long list of shortcuts without giving me an idea of just what I’m looking for in that list. Yes, it’s very clear to you just what to do you’ve been doing it for years. I could try everything on that list just to find a needle in a haystack maybe. I don’t need this at this time all I need is someone with the kindness to give me an easy answer as how to simply remove a loco from a display. If iTrain was intuitive I wouldn’t need to do this. Then I can move onto the next step and carry on enjoying developing my layout. I’m sorry but I just do not agree with your hardline methodology. All the best, Steve
  9. Hi Guys I'm just getting into using iTrain, for a newbie it’s not the most intuitive of programs. Can anyone tell me in easy-to-understand English just how I can remove Willie from the display track many thanks, Steve
  10. I've managed to find it now lol Ta
  11. For some reason it doesn't look as though I can post. Don't know why I'm a fully paid up member?
  12. How do I make a post on the iTrain forum, can't see a post button?
  13. OK thanks, yes I am watching you excellence vids. I have working feedbacks and want full automation of the trains going from one area to another etc
  14. As you can see my test track has 3 ovals and a siding. Do I need to set up Track Routes in iTrain or can I just set up the Feedbacks/occupancy? and blocks? There's one feedback in each oval and one in the sidings.
  15. I didn't close and restart but they are working now with the correct addresses the only thing is some are showing open in iTrain but on the test track they are closed. How do i alter this? I think I may have cracked it thanks! I've swopped outputs!
  16. I was just thinking that but as I said I did uncheck the box in Itrain. But I’ll have a play with it thanks Iain
  17. Now here's a funny thing. I'm in the process now of setting up iTrain I've got the loco's running around on manual operation and just setting up the point motors now. It looks as though it's doing the offset thing of 4, so point address 1 becomes 5. In fact when I click on point 1 in iTrain point 5 springs into life. But the RCN 213 box in iTrain is checked. I've also tried unchecking it but to no avail. Thanks!
  18. I thought this was a bit strange as well I went to update the firmware on the YD8116 and it says the update is an older version than current?
  19. Thank goodness for RCN 213 😀 got all 4 point motors working now and switched the numbering over with the maintenance tool all points opening and closing. Just one more to fit which will be a surface mount one cheers
  20. HI Iain, I've not installed the Maintenance Tool yet but I've altered 1 to 5 on the Z21 app and It's worked a treat, marvellous! thanks so much. It seems a bit quirky to me that the Z21 has been set up this way. Thanks once again!
  21. No I’ll have a look thanks Iain
  22. Hello again. I'm fitting the MP5 point motors to my test layout now. It won't surprise you that I can't seem to get them to operate. Mind you it did once when I switched everything back on after wiring the Power AC/DC terminals from the Signal Input terminals. I've set the points to be operated using number 1 in the setup panel.
  23. You should see the other tracks 🤣 yeah I’m gonna get me one of those. It’s on my Santa list. I tried some insulated joiners and thought it would be easier just to cut the track ( by the way the track I cut on my test rig was stuck down) I held this track with one hand whilst cutting it with a cutting disk. The only problem I foresee with that saw is I only want to cut one rail not go across and cut two chow
  24. But please, for your own sanity (and indeed ours!) lol 😂 . My understanding of diagrams has increased 100%. I was reading a bit more into the Yamorc one than what was actually there! Have a great week! Now onto fitting the point motors. DOH! well maybe not this week! Haha
  25. Hey it’s all about the learning curve 🤣 Mea Culpa my electronics friend was correct I studied his diagram again and realised the brown C wire was soldered to the Red Wire rail.
