    Hi SulzerPeak,

    Just a couple of points here;

    1, regarding “why so long for returns? We hold our hands up here, but 37 spares went missing between China and UK, and only just turned up. It has also coincided with Simon moving house. It’s on us, and we need to improve there so we hold our hands up but we are getting back on it now.

    2. All manufacturers have issues with locos, and the odd dud slips through the net, us included. After all, the manufacturer you named wouldn’t have had the famed “Warley rugby scrum” for years and now the big sale on club members day if all models they sold operated perfectly. And that’s not to run them down, merely to point out that It happens to us all.

    Can we improve? Always! My recent trip to China has looked at that and we can always do better. It’s what drives us. However, I can assure you that “issues/returns” are extremely low, and indeed lower than we envisaged when we first took the leap into making powered models.

    in the meantime if you need an update on a model please PM me your order number and I’ll chase for you.

    Cheers!

    Fran

  2. Accurascale have brought arguably the best reasonably priced locos to the uk based scene. I applaud them for that. All new companies have a learning curve. I want them to succeed. It benefits us. There are issues with motors and dcc sound though. I’ve never had problems with Bachmann locos. I’m wondering why the returned locos are taking so long to be returned and repaired. I’ve spoken to a dcc sound expert and he thinks the speaker load is incorrect on the 37s. Google Accurascale class 37 motor problems also.

    TT is off to a strong start, it’s seemingly sold considerably more than Hornby expected for the initial take up, the new models are looking great and provided the first four phases are delivered I’d say it’s got plenty of stock and variety to keep the ball rolling for the foreseeable future.

    Don’t forget there are two UK manufacturers and several continental ones all making high quality models in this scale, so it’s not quite the same as Minidisc which was a Sony only product.   Laserdisc was superseded by DVD which was hugely successful so might not be a good analogy.

    Perhaps Triang TT 3mm is the laser disc and TT:120 is the DVD replacement?  😀

    Hopefully, just hope its not another live steam novelty. Big call going against n and oo. Doubt the other big players will join the party?

    How about going head-to-head with Dapol and going for a different auto-trailer.  My own wishlisting would be an A10 first, but I'd be happy with an A44 'cyclops' or a revisit of the A30 with proper flush cab doors, the old Airfix being somewhat compromised and long-in-the-tooth which hasn't stopped Hornby from knocking them out!  There are also matchboarded and 70' trailers to consider.  And while we're on a GW branch theme, how about a B-set that isn't an E140 bow-ender, to put Rapido's nose out of joint!  No Johnster wishlisting axes to grind here, Tondu was a B-set free zone, all branches second class only...

    Some Collett flat-ended non-gangwayed coaches would be nice as well.

    You should put them on eBay for impoverished bodgers like myself can use them. The lathe is great news, lets hope they get the tyre profile right.  I had to rework my Dapol Mogul's pony wheel to stop it derailing.   ( I  Made the treads tapered not flat, a bit like full size wheels )

    Agreed what sad attitude and waste

    You could always have them upgraded if you wish, that's what I would be doing if I ever went to OO again! They may not be up there with AS and others currently have on offer here but you can still go some way to make them at least halfway decent, where modern standards are concerned! :)

    You could sure, but im more than happy with the 8 accurascale tractors that have replaced them. Best models i have ever owned sound and looks. We are very lucky these guys did these models and cheaper but better than the established makes.
