A computer, we are led to believe.

whats betting next year we are told its an AI algortihm ?

I wouldn't want to insult a computer or AI in such a way ! Ironic really isn't it, you'd thought with a company so driven by its finance updates it would be looking at every bit of sales data to the Nth degree..

Same goes for the TEAs like the Drax wagons, imagine if they did a few of those in different liveries.. budget friendly semi decent models would imo shift very fast,

Should the marker lights protrude from the front. They almost look flush. Love the detail captured on it all.

I had the same thought, you can see the 'indent'  on the 2nd mans side..

This photo I found on Flickr shows the real things protrude ever so slightly..

History would tell us a new 66 will be along just before the AS one turns up.

    I'm hoping for the 170s or even a 69.

The 69 has already been announced and EP were shown at Warley, which looked very nice!

  4. I know its the first EP but will the buffer beam issue be resolved? There is no gap in reality, the buffers are snug to the base of the 'body'.

As can be seen in this lovely photo I found on Flickr..

  5. Acquisition to closure in roughly 4 months? Surely sufficient due diligence would have to have been done, this could have been going on for 12+ months if the process is anything like the UK.

A very strange set of circumstances for sure.

  6. The obvious point being missed here is that the signalling system for his many layouts runs off the bus, so when the layout starts up - yes the Accura stuff is "heavy" but you also have x amount of signals running, maybe 1 or 2 not too bad, but these layouts have 30? + signals on the go, that must be adding up. I understand "they" were advised this wasn't the best idea but decided to go their own way.

  7. Thought it was best to ask here,

I am planning to build a model based loosely on somewhere between Crewe and Cheadle Hulme, there are a number of "gantry" style portals dotted about, are these drawn to specific site requirements or is there a generic design that is just adapted?

I don't seem to be able to find many dimensions, other than height, for 2 track "half gantry's". I've measured a couple on Google Maps and they appear to be roughly between 9.7m to 11m in width across two tracks.  Cess to Cess measurements appears to be anywhere between 9m to 11m, so I guess they can't be much bigger than that?

  8. I have a friend from Liverpool who is a model

enthusiast who has bought all the Beatles stuff since it started appearing, claims his friends also have “for the collection”. So I know of at least one confirmed sale lol

  9. Interesting to see another HAA run considering how many are still floating about from the last run.

The price of the Seacows looks like it’ll be fairly reasonable too. Shame there was no more TEAs in earlier liveries.

McTears auctions have a selection of 12 Vi-Trains class 37s  that have not generated much interest so there might be a bargain to be had: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/mctears-gallery1842/catalogue-id-srmct11947?searchTerm=Train&whereToSearch=%2Fen-gb%2Fauction-catalogues%2Fmctears-gallery1842%2Fcatalogue-id-srmct11947

Being sold in pairs, starting price of £50 per pair.

    Happy hunting!

Maybe worth caveating this that fees of 34.74% Inc.VAT/sales tax apply to every sale, so in this case almost an extra £18 is added to the price,

It certainly was common to see just the outers mixed in with 'FSA/FTA sets down to Southampton from around 1998 to around 2005 with Freightliner 47's, 57's and 66's.

Ah superb!! That's the timeline I am collecting for ! Thank you!

  12. These look great and have captured the 'might' of a Grid well,

Are there any samples of the EWS or Loadhaul liveried models around at all? There doesn't appear to many pictures if so,

Also for the "suggestions box" - Transrail livery would be great if there's a re-run in the future 😁

  13. I wonder if we will ever see a rerun of these?

The "inners" seemed to sell out very quickly, I am looking for a couple of sets of 5 of the later maritime variant but not really seeing many protoype rakes of just 2 outers, I'm not even sure that configuration was possible?

  14. Have to agree on the 175 door seals they are definitely flusher in reality, the initial CADs show this, then the 3D prints at shows (?) didn't but now the initial EP does.

The top light lens on a 175 is also flush to the exterior rather than indented, the overall shape looks good though. I assume some silver paint will be used around the light lenses which will help these appear less bulbous.

Such a shame no original FNW liveries yet in OO, especially with 323s now coming, that would certainly widen the net as to who may be interested.
