  1. Could that be because I also fitted cab lights(with resistors) to run with the directional lights?
  2. thanks for the reply was only considering soldering to change the directional lights as this has been commented as a fix on tts decoders, but if it didn't fix the flashing lights then i have wasted my time also if it didn't work i will be putting it back in a loco without directional lights that I only purchased for the tts sound to fit in the ViTrain and then sell the loco as just dcc fitted. Just thought someone might have came across the same issue I have only got a Bachmann EZ controller so cant play about with CV,s etc.
  3. Anyone any ideas? I know I can get the soldering iron out to sort the direction of the lights but don't want to do this and find the lights are still flashing! Thanks Andrew.
  4. Hi, I have put a tts sound decoder in my loco and the directional lighting constantly flashes whether the function is on or not and at the slightest of acceleration/deceleration and only works as it should at full power albeit in the wrong direction. It all works as it should on dc or when putting the non sound decoder back in any ideas? Thanks Andrew.
  5. managed to get a blanking plug, problem solved runs perfect now in both directions although now the directional lighting flickers away on the end that isn't supposed to be lit up ah well one problem often leads to another. Does that mean the decoder is heading towards the bin?
  6. Thanks I will turn the plug around and see what happens.
  7. Hi Pete, Thanks for the advice I did suspect that was the case I do have a H&M so will make sure I don't use half wave. I do plan switching to DCC so that is a result although I am getting a running issue in 1 direction all good but in the other it coughs and splutters and doesn't want to go until I give it plenty of volts ie: no slow running only fast could that be the decoder? I have checked every other possible cause and started to suspect it's causing the issue, bit strange it,s only in one direction. Thanks Andrew.
  8. Hi, I recently purchased this loco it wasn't advertised as either dcc ready or fitted and no reference is made either on the box or loco, but when I looked inside you can quite clearly see a pcb plugged into the 8 pin socket with numerous wires running to another pcb enclosed in a plastic cover. I only have DC and dont have much knowledge of DCC and any online help always says test it on DCC which I cannot do. If someone could have a look at the picture and advise me that would be great. The train runs fine on DC which it would anyway. Many Thanks Andrew.
