  1. Bachmann are concentrating on catching up on their programme and not announcing new stuff until it's nearly ready according to the stand staff. That's what people here have been telling them to do, now you want them to stop that and upgrade all the existing range? Make your mind up! Nothing wrong with aiming to be Tesco either. They seem to take a big % of the grocery business. If Bachmann are doing that then they can't be doing too badly. Maybe you should wait for the DJM version.........
  2. He also said dust extraction. I'd rather pay more for my models and know that those making them weren't risking their health to do so. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hope not.
  3. That's not an alien object, it's a tractor. If the ones around here are any guide, the very last choice of transport for those looking to cover interstellar distances.
  4. Perhaps that's because very few model shops have a second branch so this isn't an issue. Kernow have presumably decided to funnel all calls through one place so they don't have staff in the shop on the phone when they can be looking after customers. Lots of chain businesses do the same - try ringing the local branch of your bank. I'd be surprised if many people bother ringing ahead anyway. We are talking about model railway supplies NOT lifesaving medication. Something being out of stock is merely frustrating and there are other options, which I'm sure you are offered when they call you back.
  5. It would take months of work and at least one trip to China to write the full story. Even if anyone did put in that investment, the DJ fanbois would say it was too cruel and the DJ haters that it was too soft.
  6. A sprung pan needs nice, smooth wires to run on or it will catch. People will argue about the amount of springing. Others will want a posable pan. Then someone will moan it's 2019 and why can't we have operating pans like they do on the continent...
  7. Speaker and servo will have added the price if a coffee to the model. These things are cheap even when bought singly at retail prices. Since the pan and glazing that are fitted are in your opinion, rubbish, why do you conclude they would have made a good job of a sprung version?
  8. Figures frozen in movement never look right to me. Drivers don't stop in mid climb for hours. You might as well have "running man on platform" again.
  9. Does this matter? If I buy something from eBay and have a problem, I'm not going to buy from them again anyway!
  10. If you read the thread, several people have, and been answered.
  11. Andy Y is right. Famous modellers is a regular topic. Is our hobby only valid if famous people do it?
  12. Try the Revell range. The have 3 different shades of black
  13. It would be interesting to know how much 3 days worth of security cover would be. However, it's worth remembering that there are 500 shows a year and this is the first such outrage.
  14. Not necessarily. If you are against something you overplay spending inefficiencies. You skip the detail that a lot of the extra costs are due to local demands, each a small amount but adding up to a big bill. No-one is neutral in this, especially the Taxpayers Alliance, or most of the House of Lords. For most people, efficient spending is spending on something they want and approve of.
  15. It does if you don't want Google reporting it as unsafe.
  16. Howes at Kidlington sell spare sprues, or you can use a bit of wire.
  17. The problem is that the British public doesn't care about rules or laws. Unless they get caught, they think they've done nothing wrong.
  18. If you sell stuff on a club stand, it needs a keen price. People love a bargain! Probably not the best for rare or unusual models though.
