This is said to be a significantly modified, updated and uprated version of the 'flawed but superb' Hattons H4-66.
My Freightliner 'Patriot' weighs 740g DCC ready (DC operation).
I would guesstimate 'running light' she can probably touch about 120mph scale speed, yet can crawl as well as anything I own - loaded (significantly) she still runs way over 100mph scale - 12x Bachmann HHA bogie wagons each with loads.
The A/Scale model details state overall box weight is 900g, locomotive being 800g - heavier or just an 'approx.'?
They also state a 'scale speed of over 75mph' - as in reasonably, but just over, not hugely like the Hattons' one.
Is the gearing the same as the old Hattons' model, or has it been lowered as implied?
If this is true, does this mean the A/Scale model will have an even greater haulage capacity than the Hatton's 66? This could be quite an 'interesting dual' for somebody!!
Al.
Well gearing it down will give it more tractive effort but at what point do the plastic gears loose grip on the axle.......Hornby dublo did a test of pulling a youngter on a trolley with a model CO CO in the late 50,s but they had brass gears. Not long to wait for you to test them together but how many have a layout to pull scale length trains.

Well yes I lose a bit of money for selling it on but I strongly disapprove of the Spivs who buy them just to immediately sell them on at a profit, hopefully my sale has stopped one of them getting a sale 😂, regards Rob
Dont know how many are on for inflated resale but by using the auction function you would at least not loose money and your not twisting anyones arm to buy it are you, even the spivs are just giving an option of getting a model if one missed out, you dont have to buy.

Apparently a single screw ship and the smoke is off the stacks,i guess engines in full reverse as they knew it was heading for bridge as the ship called in emergency first,it would seem its had electrical issue all the time in port with overloads tripping........

The ship looses electrical power if you watch footage it goes dark and they get the power back but its too late to steer, apparently it dropped the anchor but was too late.

The catalogues, at this stage anyway, are produced as range promotional material to be distributed at the shows we attend, and are timed in accordance with those shows. They are intended as ‘wandering around’ material and prove extremely effective, and popular, as do the postcards that we produce to accompany the latest release or announcement.
After all, everyone loves a freebie, don’t they?
All the best,
Paul
Hmm seems i attend to many shows then, and enjoy a bit chin wagg with you guys, its a nice touch though and puts names to faces and become buddys with a common interest, as Stephen has suggested a supply on the site for post for those who dont or cannot attend shows, one in the box for the international customers for there support. I guess its the having something to touch and remember a point in time thats appealling to some but just as useful to whack flys with in the summer and the bag full of bricks brigade who attend shows. Thanks either way Paul and Co

Hi ERIC ALLTORQUE,
The last show I was able to get to where Accurascale were in attendance was some time back (I think even pre-Covid) due to ongoing personal reasons. The hardcopy of the catalogue I obtained there has been very useful for reference and of good quality. There are plenty of people though who cannot get to shows for various reasons, so rely on online catalogues.
Online, their Spring 2023 PDF edition was the last one as far as I can tell but was surprised it disappeared off the website, seemingly without replacement. I do not know what the latest hardcopy release is... is it later than Spring 2023 (per the online version)?
I can't think that it could be a difficult question to answer... though hoping an updated one is in preparation?
Thanks,
Ixion.
Every three months i think and its summer 24 for latest. It was buyable for the cost of post if i remember correct?? @McC

The GM engine is designed around long life and maintanence ease, the cylinder liner and piston rod assembly being replaceable makes it where as long as they are parts made it will be usable. The engine is the least of worry i would guess. The fact is made in the states/Canada is a plus for been able to get the spares.

The ship was tumbling all over on the re entry phase as at one point it was coming i backward,IFT4 will be interesting, probably better achiving a stable orbit and then attempting re entry.

Passing Doncaster on the way down to Ally Pally 66171 was in yard still in EWS but looking like its up for regear to 66/6 so will get a new number and coat of red at Toton soon, apparently ten are getting done to lower their top speed to 65 and up the traction, 66221 is now 66651 after conversion.

Not sure if this has been asked before, (also meant to ask yesterday at ally pally but forgot!) - will the sound upgrade option be compatible with previous Hattons 66’s?
