    With regards to the BR/LNER 21T hopper: ALL hoppers had instanter couplings except for the prototype.

    I think I can throw some light on the chassis situation as the clue lies in the large flitch plate as these chassis were cut and shut and PROBABLY were culled from existing 56ft LSWR carriage stock. Bogies were FOX 8' pressed steel frame coach bogies.
