  1. These are some of my round animals, the cow, goat and Suffolk Punch horse are round but the fallow deer is oval.
  2. Thank you Hal Nail I've just messaged them about maybe making a Marshall traction engine I know I’d buy a few!
  3. The Wiseman looks amazing!! I like Marshall traction engines because they’re very simple and look beautiful but powerful too. I may have to ask someone to make a kit for one but I don’t know how. I like the Rowlands miniatures model but it’s only available in 00 not 0 which is a shame.
  4. Thank you Giles, I’m sorry about the late reply. What does the traction engine look like from the front? How easy would it be to kit bash the Aveling and Porter into a Marshall? Is it still available?
  5. You’re welcome You’re a great modeller your stationmasters house reminds me of the work of the late great Allan Downes. Your model has the same attention to detail and beauty. Your patience shows as this model is fantastic!!
  6. This is a wonderful idea! I’d love to see a model of a narrow gauge tramway based on a canal maybe on a towpath too. A camping coach would be great too.
  7. How about a Kirtley 2-2-2 rebuilt by Johnson they were beautiful engines.
  8. Thank you Northroader. I love having fun in our hobby which unfortunately can be too serious sometimes. My animals would be on the roads or in fields around my railway, I agree it would be hard to fit one of my horses on a wagon or one of my cows in a cattle wagon. I’m wondering if I should widen the 7mm horse drawn vehicle kits to go with my horses or should I just widen the shafts? I’d love to design fat highland cattle they would be huge!! This is one of my cows, I think she’s a red Holstein and she’s made from paper mache. If I made a cow (and other animals) for my layout she would be 3d printed or cast.
  9. I love your models! The Highland Railway looks very good in narrow gauge maybe the LSWR would look good in narrow gauge too, the midland railway or Somerset and Dorset would be interesting too. I’m hoping to build a 09 railway based in the Cotswolds with my huge round animals too.
  10. My profile photo is of one of my stylised round horses, this one is a Suffolk Punch horse.

  11. I hope you’re project goes well it’s a great project idea
  12. Your stationmasters house is looking amazing! I can’t wait to see your station building
  13. Thank you Dungrange Do you like my animals? I have drawn my round animals since childhood but a lot of people have said my style is a bit American or Japanese and a bit like Thelwell or Emett too. Thank you for your help I’m only just starting in 7mm (09) and my animals are quite large I’m wondering if I can use horse drawn vehicle kits or should I widen them? I also make wild animals too such as kangaroos and tigers even dragons and unicorns.
  14. Thank you Baggies1961 I will take a look at google maps, I’d love to add a farm to my layout. Have you seen photos of my round animals? I’m glad slaters makes a Cotswold stone sheet, can you bend plasticard? I love Cotswold buildings and the landscape too.
  15. Thank you Kris unfortunately the plans are for modern homes not historic houses but I may look on the internet.
  16. I’m new to 7mm scale so I’m wondering how big a regular heavy horse would be in 0. My animals are at least 5 times lifesize in my round style the bodies of the animals are huge but the heads and hooves are small, I would love to use them on my layout but I’d have to 3d print them. I have a few photos of some of my animals: a Suffolk Punch Horse (my biggest horse), a fallow deer, a goat and a red Holstein cow. I’m sorry if they’re a bit unusual but all of my animals are round or oval like watermelons. I’d love to hear your advice and ideas.
  17. I am hoping to base my 09 railway in the Cotswolds but I can’t find any plans for Cotswold buildings such as barns, farms, churches, houses and bridges. I’m finding it hard to choose buildings that I model so any help or advice would be appreciated.
  18. Thank you Sir Douglas I will look into both books, Arthur Heywoods designs are beautiful.
  19. Thank you Dava I think I saw Irton Road a few years ago it was wonderful! I will try Avalon models and minimum gauge models. I have just sent a question to N drive about Katie and Effie. Unfortunately Duncan models only make a Garrett traction engine which is a shame I will join the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association soon. Thank you again hopefully I can start my model soon!
  20. I’d love to see a little giant 4-4-2 in 09! Your Ursula looks amazing will you make a Katie or Effie too?
  21. I’d love to model the locomotives and rolling stock of Arthur Heywood but I’m new to 09 so unfortunately I don’t know which kits are available. I’d also like to add some suitable freelance rolling stock too. I’d like to add small stations at each end of the line and small halts in between but I’m not sure on designs yet but it’s set in the Cotswolds as an estate and public railway. Any help would be great, also does anyone know where I can find a 0 gauge Marshall traction engine?
  22. I’m just starting in 7mm and 09. I did start a 4mm scale model railway a few years ago but I found the scale a bit too small and I love detail. I hope to learn more about railway modelling in particular 09, I also make stylised round animals.

  23. I have always liked Marshall traction engines but I have found that there isn’t a kit for one in 0 gauge as far as I know. There is a kit in 00 from Rowlands Miniatures though which is a shame as I’d really love to have one on my layout.
